...rding studio. We do a weekly live concert broadcast to Facebook using Wirecast software. There is an internet radio station that uses icecast that wants to carry the audio from my broadcast live. ucs2 build of xapian?
Hi folks-- I'd really like to try out Xapian on my current server setup (Debian Sarge, Apache2, mod_python, django, postgresql, psycopg2). Problem is, my Python is compiled as ucs2, which is incompatible w/Xapian. I've tried recompiling Python w/ucs4, but it inevitably breaks psycopg2 (which I've blitzed & reinstalled on top of the new Python build, seems like dozens of times

Scoring/similarity, biased towards small fields?
Lucene, and perhaps most search engines, are biased towards small fields with little content (where thus the term frequency is higher). Lucene has the option to define a custom (Similarity) class to calculate the similarity between two fields (custom calculation of lengthNorm and tf) in different documents.
