sampling vectors
Hello Listers, I am trying to sample a vector to create a new one of sample length, witha sum equal to the sum of the initial vector: initial = 10, 30, 10 (sum=50) sample example = 5, 35, 10 (sum=50) or 25, 15, 10 (sum=50), etc ... My problem is to control the sum, so it stays constant. Any suggestions would be very helpful ! Thank you in advance, Eric

Puppetmaster behind ssh with remote port forward
...envoriment which is composed by a puppetmaster running in my laptop (Macos Snow Leopard) and a puppet client running on a EC2 instance at Amazon. In order to allow the client to talk with the master I''m using an SSH Remote port forward, ie I login into from the laptop into the EC2 instance witha "-R 8140:localhost:8140" flag. This way when the clients connect into localhost:8140 this connection is forwarded back via SSH tunnel to my laptop. Now, whenever I test it with netcat or something similar, everything went fine, but when I run puppetd I got the error: "err: Could no...

Samba & Vista
Hello, Does anybody know if Samba is compadable with Vista Yet? If so, is there a way for a group pr user policy to allow samba users to things in windows vista, like install programs w/o admin access. I know Vista has policies that can do this, where it cna basicly grant the user access, witha prompt or w/o a prompt. Can Samba support this too?

Shorewall and SIP phones
Hello,   Are there general guidelines around on how to configure Shorewall for use with SIP phones ?  Especially regarding (some?) Cisco SIP phones which are expecting a reply at port 5060 while sending from an arbitrary high port. ...nt for users to feel somewhat comfortable with their new toolkit, I think we should support an optional argument, possibly -native, that would cause llvm-gen to work towards a native executable instead of an LLVM executable. > For the name, again, I'd be happy with either llvmcd or llvmgen, witha > preference for the latter. The more important thing is to makellvm > code be the default output. I'm not thrilled with llvm-gen because it has overtones of "code generation" (which actually isn't far from the truth). But, it conjures up the wrong kind of tool .. somethi...

[LLVMdev] llvm-mc build failure
Dear llvm, Recently (approximately a week ago) Clang and LLVM started to failed at building. Assuming it was my incompetence, I cleared everything and started witha fresh checkout (not that I changed it though). I am on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-Bit. And I configure and compile with CMake. The error message I get at approximatley 66% is as follows: Linking CXX executable ../../bin/llvm-mc ../../lib/libLLVMMSP430Desc.a(MSP430MCTargetDesc.cpp.o): In function `llvm:...

Generic Question: Why should I use Asterisk over SIPxchange?
For those of you who have been working with asterisk for a while and who have experience with SIPxchange, why have you chosen Asterisk over the latter? What are some significant differences between the two that those of you familiar with both have discovered? Brent
