MySQL backticks and column names
...way. Is this just a MySQL issue or would the
problem be common across all databases? I would like to submit a patch
for this if I can. Are there other places that would benefit from
backticks to avoid problems which occur because key words are used as
table or column names?

Scenarios Plugin Pre-Announcement
...ec.rb
And check out the example scenarios in:
http://faithfulcode.rubyforge.org/svn/plugins/trunk/scenarios/spec/scenarios/
You will need to be running off of rspec/trunk and probably rails edge as well.
More documentation and examples will follow with the official release.

Testing the flash.now
...h.now[:notice] = ''This will only show up on this action.''
How do I test it? Normally I would do:
assert_equal ''This will only show up on this action.'', flash[:notice]
But this doesn''t seem to work with flash.now.
Any thoughts?

RedCloth and Rails
Has anyone had any experience with RedCloth for rails. It is a textile
system. I haven''t spot checked the code and was wondering if it caused
any lockups or other issues.

ETA to Stories
Hey guys, just poppin in to ask if anyone knows when stories will be
somewhat stable? We''re starting to use integration tests at work,
we''re already using rspec, and I''d like to avoid integration tests if
possible.
Thanks,

Version 1.1.2 CHM Documentation File
I finally got around to compiling the Rails 1.1.2 Documentation into a

You can download the file directly from here:

Let me know if you encounter any problems with the file.

Soapbox
Hi all,
I thought y''all might be interested in seeing a newly released website
named Soapbox which was written in Rails.
Soapbox features reviews of products, businesses, services, and anything
else you can think of written by the people *you* care about.

Saving ActiveRecord objects that are composed of other objects
...ecause should a failure occur when saving the parts I don''t want the
page to be saved. Of course I could override the #save method and use
transactions for this, but I''d rather not do that if ActiveRecord
provides something built in. Am I missing something?

RedCloth and lang specific hooks
Hi,
I use textilize() which is a great way of letting end users edit contents.
But the code in RedCloth is quite compact, and doesn''t allow for easily
adding correct typographic behaviour depending on the lang of the text.
For instance, correct quoting uses round double quotes in english and
double carons ? ? in french; the spaces before punctuation can be
corrected too. I''d

Creating your own generators
...entation on creating
generators? I found:
http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/Generators
But it didn''t talk about creating your own generator. A `script/generate
generator` command would be most helpful for bootstrapping the creation
process of new generators.
