Problems with AWUS036H usb wirless nic under CentOS 6.2
Hi all,
I have problems with a wireless usb adapter (AWUS036H) under CentOS
6.2 x86_64 machine. Sometimes, randomly, it loses wireless connection
and never back. I need to do an ifdown and then an ifup, but sometimes
works and sometimes not. If I am not wrong this adapter uses rtl8187
chip ...
Somebody knows what can I do?? Under Windows 2008 R2 server works
perfect ...
Thanks.

nm-applet, wirless, and CentOS 6
I have a strange problem and I know I am doing things way outside of the box.
First of all I don't like Gnome or really any of the mess-windows flavored
desktop systems and no, I don't like the MacOSX flavored desktop systems (like
Ubuntu's Unity) either. The 'desktop' system (if you could have called it
that) that I learned on was DEC's 'DecWindows' system on

RADIUS
...this process is unfeasible.? Perhaps you could explain what you're looking for, more precisely?
As a customer visting a store, would you go to the lengths of configuring your
cell phone (or other wireless device) to authenticate with a RADIUS server in
order to gain internet access through the wirless network of the store?
From what I?m being told, everyone already has internet access with their cell
phones from their phone service provider and is apparently happy with that
even though the amount of data they can transmit is ridiculously low. So why
would anyone do any configuring and have to...

No, I'd never offer wireless network access this way. Typically, you either
offer it unauthenticated, or you provide it via a captive web portal.

Where do your hypothetical customers in a store get the user credentials
that you want to authenticate via RADIUS?
I'm not sure I understand the use case you're describing.? I'm not sure
you do, either.

Hope that makes some sense.....

Yes, I do it frequently with my phone. You do it once and it remembers
it. My phone is more often on wifi than on 4G when I'm in a town.

Netinstall wants to use wlan0
Hi, Folks --
I'm setting up an Acer Aspire 5250 as a Christmas gift, CentOS 6 netinstall
insists on trying to configure wlan0 but I'm using a wired DSL connection,
consequently netinstall fails and only offers the option to Retry.
How can I get it to bypass the wlan0 idea and go straight to eth0...?
Thanks,

I understand that it is suggested that I should give all unauthorized devices
network access (so that they can PXE boot or whatever), which is what I
don?t want to do.
IIUC, when using RADIUS, devices can be denied network access before they
get any because the switch or wirless access point the devices use to get
network access negotiates access rights for the devices on behalf of the
devices with the RADIUS server rather than that the devices are given
network access to negotiate thier access rights themselves. That?s supposed
to provide better security, and it makes se...

Asterisk and 802.11g
I'm greatly surprised when testing an Asterisk box with 802.11g. Here's the
topology:

When I call a VoIP extension on that box (from a VoIP extension), voice is
good. But when this box tries to bridge the call with a

Thanks, I figured it is what I might need to look into. How about
a client that uses PXE boot?
