Nortel digital FXO channel bank? Exists?
We have a client with a Nortel PBX with digital phone sets. Due to T1
problems (old firmware), we are interested in trying a FXO channel bank.
Is there a channel bank (or equivalent) which emulates Meridian digital
phone sets? In order words, an FXO channel bank that's Meridian digital?
Thanks

911, location
Hi there,
I am running a PBX under asterisk 1.6. I have few FXO analogue lines
connecting to PSTN. These lines are in a hunt group. I trying to make
my extensions to dial 91, but this is a bit scary, I mean if somebody
make an emergency call after hours and without completing call is not
able to tell his/her location. How can I make 911 call center to know
the exact location of my extension. I

"The number you have called has been disconnected or is no longer in service"
This sort of message is usually preceded by some magic tones that
allow direct marketing application to immediately drop a call to a
dead phone number.
What is the proper terminology for the tones?
Where can I find information about how this is implemented?

Practical limit on dial prefixes for a route
Colleagues,
We're in the process of standardizing on Sprint PCS and Cingular phones on a
national basis (~ 50 properties, 1000's of lines). I manage an Asterisk
install at one location.
I've been looking at the Multitech CellFinder CDMA for Sprint as a dial
backup solution. Basically, it's a CDMA to POTS gateway, tied to a PCS
account. We would see it as a trunk line and I

OT - DECT handset with Line key
Hi,
I need to replace digital handsets in offices where there cabling is
appareantly not Ethernet-compliant.
Today's usage is to press a key to toggle between private ou public line
before issuing an outgoing call.
Are you aware of a DECT handset (to overcome cabling limitations) that mimic
this line-key behaviour ?
For instance, acceptable behaviours would be to dial number string and press

QoS in wireless networks
Hello,
I''m trying to configure several wireless routers with QoS support. The
idea is to implement differentiated services so that VoIP traffic gets
the maximal priority, then video, control traffic, interactive data
traffic and best-effort traffic.
I have seen that CBQ used to be chosen as qdisc for implementing
bandwith share in DiffServ but now HTB is preferred because it is

that should be ok.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
