[OT] Wifi SIP phones - LinkSys WIP330
Hi List, Hope everyone is recovering from the festive season :) (ok we still have new years i guess!) Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has had any successful dealings with WiFi phones and operation with '*' at all? I've been keeping my eye on the LinkSys WIP330 ( http://preview.tinyurl.com/nccxn ) and wondered your collective thoughts? Would I be correct in thinking that (as long as the relevant ports were open on the firewall) it would be possible to still be an extension to * if you could access the internet from, say, a wifi hot spot that was not...

Provisioning Linksys WIP330 phones
We're contemplating Linksys WIP 330 phones, but we're concerned about configuration effort. Does anyone have the file format for an XML file to configure this phone? We got auto-provisioning to D/L a file, but the XML file format seems to be a secret... Thanks, Michelle -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

SIP/WiFi handsets?
Anyone know of any *portable* SIP/WiFi handsets? Looking for a decent price:quality ratio, of possible. Keep seeing handsets for Vonage, etc., in Best Buy and the like, but I imagine it's locked to Vonage, and can't be re-appropriated. Recommendations on a WiFi phone for *?
We're getting our feet more and more wet with VOIP at work. We want to experiment with a good wireless (as in WiFi) phone. What would be a good phone to impress my boss with? I'm personally drooling over the UTStarcom F3000, but compatibility and shipping ETA info is a bit sketchy. Phil

DECT phone for home: siemens A510 v. Grandstream DP715

I'm now looking at the Siemens A510IP base ($90 ) and A510H handset ($40) and the Grandview DP715 base ($80) and DP710 handset ($45). The Siemens has a feature were I can also use a PSTN landline, but I not sure that's a great benefit. Has anybody tried these phones? I

Wireless VOIP Keysets? Recommendations?
Any Recommendations on a "Good" Wireless Voip Keyset that works well with Asterisk? I would prefer one that is IAX2 as it works better behind a Nat'd Firewall.. But I am reaching out to you guys as you all would know what would work the best :-) ________________________________________________________________ Sent via the WebMail system at kotbh.net

WiFi phones and WDS (Wireless Distribution System)
I'm about to start working with WiFi phones on my Asterisk installations. Can anyone tell me if they are using WiFi phones on wireless network that is extended with WDS and how well the phone handles jumping from access point to access point while on a call? Do any WiFi phones support WPA encryption or are they all still under the impression they are only being used on public hot spots?
