Changing default primary Group sid from 513 to 515
...When i Join a new Windows System to PDC, the system gets it's Primary gid as 513 (Domain Users) instead of (Domain Computers). When using smbldap-tools, this works fine but we would like to avoid smbldap-tools. I''m using RHEL 5. One of the virtual machines I have running is a WinXP install. I start this up after I login to X. If I log out of X, the virtual WinXP is still running (that''s fine with me). Samba closing printer prematurely?
...3] smbd/reply.c:reply_printclose(3561) printclose fd=5 fnum=9756 Seem like Samba is opening and closing the printer connection at the same timem, so nothing is getting down the pipe. Anyone have any tips, ideas I can try? As I said this problem is only with AcroReader v7.0.3 on a fully patched WinXP2 box. Thanks Paul

linux -> windows special characters in filenames problems
I'm running Samba 3.32 on my linux server to share files with the windows computers on the network. My problem is that windows doesn't support some special characters in filenames, like ' : ', that linux has no problem with. So something (not sure if it's Samba or windows) is mangling directory/file names containing that character into 8.3 names, which makes it very difficult
