Trouble with PowerMan UPS

Asking for UPS status [Q1]...

4 out of 5 detection attempts failed (minimum failures: 2).
The UPS is supported, but the connection is too unreliable. Try checking
the cable for defects.
I have tried it on win xp with WinStar Pro and it works just fine. The
cable and UPS are new.
Any advice?

I've lost the CD which came with it, but apparently it's something called Winstar Power Management software. It's some 45mb java thingy which even if I had it I obviously wouldn't want to install :)
If anyone could be of any help that would be fantastic!

can I use template to assemble a html page in an controller and redirect to another controller?
Hi,all!
I want to assemble a html page and put it into flash and redirect to
another controller ,for example:
flash[:aaa]="<html><body><div>hi</div></body></html>"
but what I need is to assemble some more complicate html page,so I
want to read the render result of a template before to send it to
browser.
Any thought?
