application can not delete from samba share
...rom a specific windows application. Filemanagers, command prompt can handle the files well. The checked things: - the same application was able to delete from samba_2.x - permissions are OK. From windows explorer or from command prompt I can delete well. Create files, delete, modify perfect from WinOS but from this application is not possible. -acls , SIDs seems to be OK. getfacl rwxrwxrwx - this application is able to delete from other shares except the files are on samba - log level 10: I could not recognized any failure or strange behaviour - I have tried many settings in smb.conf : oplo...

Samba as PDC for WinXP, Win98 and Win95
Hello! Ive just got the lovely job of converting and old Windows NT 4 fileserver to FreeBSD, ive set up samba before as a simple fileshare but this place requires roaming profile login from WinXP, Win98 and Win95 clients. My question is whether or not any of you people have any experience with this and might be able to give some tips on the way? I've tried fidling with it but i cant get

...I laughed at Windows for Networking 3.11 where Microsoft attempted to instill its brand of 'networking'. Of course, Windows brings me work, Macs get it done (insert Linux as well.) This is one of the reasons I follow and support Wine and supported Project Odinn (after it was renamed from WINOS/2) back in the 90s. I like others would love to see Microsoft Office for Linux (any version) but realize that Wine is what is going to make that happen. James McKenzie
