Hi all, I am experiencing a problem with the quality of the voice communication between an IAX based softphone (WinIAX) and an outside line through a FXO port or even with a regular analog phone connected to a FXS port. The party using the IAX softphone hears his own echo a plit of a second after speaking. The party on the analog end does not experience any echo. ...128mb of RAM and Gentoo 1.4 (w/latest gentoo updates) and Asterisk 0.7.2. I'm the only one using the machine ATM and it's about 2 ft from my desk with a dedicated hub... There is no telephony hardware install currently. SIP quality seems slightly better, and I've tried almost every WinIAX client out there, they're all pretty much the same. I'm using the soundcard in my laptop and a Plantronics headset. Playback of the IVR prompts generally sounds good, but inter-client communication is noisy. Thx. Chris.

Hello list, I have reason to believe that ADSI can be spoken to phones even when they're onhook. Is this true? Does anyone know? Right now, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do anything to an onhook channel other than ring it. Does this require a magic application and some serious voodoo? Any pointers?
