dcom98.exe fails to install.
I used the tool wine-config-sidenet from
http://sidenet.ddo.jp/winetips/config.html which works great.
I installed wine 20041201 as recommended and started wine-config-sidenet
setup program and IE6 seemed to run great however, some URLs didn't work
for example: www.arkia.co.il.
Looking at the FAQ I noticed I should install dcom98.exe. When

Accuterm 2K2 on Wine under Gentoo Linux
I am trying to run a Windows app Accuterm 2K2 (a terminal emulator) on
wine 0.9.8,
I am able to install Accuterm just fine, and it actually starts up, but
it crashed with the following:

open/save dialogs hang wine
...hem and the only way out of this is to
kill wine. Does anyone know how to solve this?

MDAC not installing
...4) and the 20050725 binary install from the instructions here: http://www.winehq.com/site/download-deb Wine installs fine and I can get some core software installed w/o a hitch. I am using the script from here to get IE6, DCOM98 and the Windows Installer installed just fine: http://sidenet.ddo.jp/winetips/config.html As a heads up, I've had equal failure using winetools in regards to MDAC.
So far, I've tried a version of MDAC 2.6 as well as 2.8 and 2.8 SP1. Here is the output I get in the console when attempting to install:

I know you can run Windows applications using WINE (winehq.com), but has
anyone tried, say, running Word or Excel VBA code/macros based on Windows
run time libraries?

the thing is that in their faq
(http://www.winehq.com/site/docs/wine-faq/index) they don't even mention
this possibility and searching on; VBA Word, doesn't give you any hits,
even though WINE does link to windows
