Last 3 wines are failed to compile on various reasons.
(If I remember correctly: 20020411 compiles;
20020509, 20020605, 20020710 does not.)

winetest-latest.exe crashes on notebook, leads to reboot
This ain't funny anymore. On my notebook with ati xpress 1250 onboard graphics running Windows XP, the latest version of winetest (corresponding to wine 1.1.41) crashes after some timeout in the d3d9 tests, which leads to a hard reboot. On my intel945 desktop there's just some timeout.
While I understand, that this X1250 chip is not really decent hardware and not supported anymore by Ati

winetest and winrash
Winetest is a program we use to check wine APIs are compatible with
the windows ones.
We need winetest run in a visible desktop, winrash can't do this at
the moment so we don't
get results from winrash users any more. This will be fixed sometime
in the future.
In the mean time, if you have a windows box please download the latest
version of winetest

Dear All
Hi,
I am using ./tools/wineinstall to compile and install
Wine-20050310 with all default settings unchanged except
`prefix' in ./tools/wineinstall. which I have changed to
prefix=/usr/local/Wine.
But wineinstall exits with the following error message:{{{

Cannot compile wine fully
Hi!
For a longer time, I cannot build all the support suite of wine programs,
especially winehelp and winetest. It seems that there is some problem with
perl:
winetest.c: In function `xs_init':
winetest.c:158: `my_perl' undeclared (first use in this function)
winetest.c:158: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
winetest.c:158: for each function it appears in.)

Problem with strings in Delphi Program
Hello,
I tried to run a program written in Delphi in wine and it ran quite
perfectly, but sadly there was one important detail that made using it
impossible...
It seems that wine has a problem with the text inputs (edits). They are
"string" datatypes (8 bit ansi string), and not null terminated.
The problem was showing itself e.g. at the login form of the program.

Wine Conformance Test on Windows 9x, how to report?
I've run two conformance test binary (winetest-latest and winetest-8cbb8cc38d01) on Microsoft Windows Me 4.90.3000,
both warned that Win9x was not supported, and I wouldn't be able to submit results.
The lastest one said that there were about 67 tests failed (some wscript and msi error dialog appeared during the test)
and it also said that there might be some problem with my

AutoWikiBrowser (.NET 2.0 app) with mono 1.9
AutoWikiBrowser (AWB) is a Wikipedia-oriented browser for doing
repetitive editing:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AWB
AWB is a .NET 2.0 application. It doesn't work in Wine under Mono 1.2:

- but I see Mono 1.9 (preview of 2.0) is out, so decided to give it a go:

Run 32 bit apps on Wine x64?
Hi. I installed Wine and tried to run Briad game on a laptop with openSUSE 11.3 x64. It throws me the message:
Trying to load PE image for unsupported architecture (AMD-64)
err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception.
Which means Wine x64 is not able to run 32 bit apps, and I imagined it. I installed Wine through Yast, selecting the packages

Problem Installing 20041201
Season's greetings to all and Happy New Year.
I've been trying to install wine-20041201 in
Debian-like Knoppix 3.6, Kernel 2.6.7 for a while now
but my pre-existing wine version didn't change
(2004516). Naturally, I've tried winehq site and
google for any potential help but in vain.
Successfully installed latest Winetools anyway, but I
needed to update my wine. I then removed my

Attention Non-Linux Wine Users
Howdy BSD/Solaris/OS X'ers,
A lot of progress has been made fixing the conformance tests for Wine,
but unfortunately, most of this progress has only been made on the
Linux end. Most developers are using some form of Linux, so
BSD/Solaris/OS X haven't seen their pass rate increase. But you can
help!
For more info, see:

But for the short version:

MakeTestFailures

I downloaded and compiled from bleding-edge git and ran these last
night. I boggled slightly when the unit testing actually crashed X
(Kubuntu Hardy, kwin) - is anyone else getting this? I ran the tests
again in failsafe (just a naked xterm - or, rather, konsole - and no
window manager) and they finished and submitted OK.

Backup binaries
I'm using Debian - Etch.
Where does WINE keep it's binaries and libs so I can make a backup of my
current working WINE prior to compiling -- just in case I mess something
up?
I know there's a number of files in "/usr/bin" that are prefixed with
"wine*". Are there any that DO NOT have a "wine" prefix that I should
know about?
And files in
