winesetup
Hello! I have just compiled and installed wine-2001-07-31 (from tar.gzipped source) and it works fine. But I cannot find the winesetup programm which makes setup much more comfortable. I am new to wine; I've used rpm-package on a different system where winesetup was automatically installed. Is winesetup not part of wine-2001-07-31? Or do I have it and just did not install it? Where can I find it and how can I install it???...

First time run errors, winesetup?
I compiled the latest release of wine, without any problems, on Red Hat, 7.2 When I run wine, it says I dont have a .wine config file, in my user directory. I ran winelauncher, and clicked setup, and it says it cant find 'winesetup', which it needs to write the config file for the first time run. winesetup isnt in the release (or any I have seen), if they has been taken out, how do I create a config file then in my user directory?

codeweavers-wine:itcl problem
codeweavers-wine-20010112-1 hung during install (rpm) at the creation of KDE/Gnome menus; since I don't use either, I thought, no prob and ran winesetup from Blackbox. I skipped re-making the links on starting winesetup and went right for the configuration. which also failed. This is the message it generated: Error: Invoking 'wish Main.itcl' in /opt/wine/bin/winesetuptk appears to have failed. Then it suggested I make use of the win...

Damn itcl to hell.
...Mandrake 8.0 installation and have been trying in vain to get CodeWeavers Wine (preview #3) installed. I've downloaded and installed the 'blessed' version of itcl from the CodeWeaver's website (itcl-8.3.2-7mdk.i586.rpm) and am still getting the itcl not found error when I try to run winesetup. Anyone else got this problem despite installing the correct version of itcl? Thanks. Jon.

Don't know what's wrong, but the only managed window I get is for Forte Agent. I can't get Notepad, Regedit and IrfanView to run managed. wine 10510 on debian testing/woody Using wine without windows. I ran the winesetup utility and set win98 and managed. Wine install/execution problems
...tion problem. I am currently running Mandrake 8.0 (2.4.3) and tried the Wine that came with it. I have since downloaded and installed Codeweaver Wine 1.0 Preview, but I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. For starters, it states "If you are using KDE or Gnome, you can simply select the WineSetup program from the System menu. Alternately, you can run the 'winesetup' command directly." Well, there is no System menu (I'm running KDE), so I type "winesetup" in my normal user window which brings up the Winesetuptk. This prompts me for the location of the config file a...

Newies Q: Getting Started With Wine On Red Hat 7.2
...r /home/srussell/.wine : No such file or directory ===================== I think I might need to run some sort of set up program. I checked out the win man page, but all it told me was that I should read the source install directory without telling where it is or which file I need. I tried "winesetup" but it doesn't appear to exist. Can anyone point to where I could read about this issue to get wine running?

Wine Setup and Config File?
I have recently added the appropriate lines to my sources.list and done an apt-get install wine, read the included documentation, and run winesetup. Here are the results: tilleyrw@debian:~$ wine Warning: The Wine launcher is unable to find xmessage. This launcher script relies heavily on finding this tool, and without it, it will behave poorly. Most Linux distributions have one or the other of these tools. We strong...

I have a Debian testing box with a 2.4.26 kernel. I used apt-get to install wine, wine-doc and winesetup. Setup detected all the drives and paths on my system but when I tried to run a program with the command wine g:\\bridge\\mike (Mike Lawrence's Counting at Bridge - a very elementary program, might even work with DOS) I get the messages Warning: The specified Windows dire...

Problem: "Please use registry key HKEY .."
...the following message is on the console used to start the program: "Please use the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\Software\Fonts\LogPixels to set the screen resolution and remove the Resolution entry in the config file." In .wine/config I find Resolution ="96" but I used winesetup to create fake_windows and I can't find a registry file in .wine. How do I make this correction?
