Wine on non-Unix platforms
...d to Linux is a noble goal, but not one that I expect to be very successful at.
So, my question is whether it would be possible to make a portable version of Wine, perhaps using something like SDL. Actually, I see there are a number of ideas about how to run Wine on Windows (http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOnWindows), though it doesn't seem like any of them would work as well as a native Windows solution.
But, for that matter, why limit Wine to just Windows? ARM has jumped from smart phones to tablets, with netbooks on the way, and low powered notebooks planned in the future. Microsoft is even making an A...

Wine for Windows Vista?
Hi,
I am looking for IE6 to run on Vista - In the URL below, it states that
there is a Wine for Windows now - and IE 6 can be installed once you have Wine for Windows.
Is this correct info?

I have recently installed Debian on a old Pentium 3 machine, so I may check out Wine on that platform as well.

Wine on Windows - wiki notes
Wine on Windows is an idea of real-world usefulness, as newer versions
of Microsoft Windows increasingly fail to support apps Wine still
supports.
I've started a wiki page: http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOnWindows
This covers my experiments with the three main POSIX layers (Cygwin,
MinGW and Interix) on XPsp3.
Various people have told me they've got it to work before (native
compilation and install on Windows), but I seem to be the one
gathering data :-) If anyone who's done it could please (a) put...

Wine on Windows 7... Anyone actually tried?
Oi.
So. Now we have a version of windows that actually has legit uses for wine.
Windows 7 can't run horrifyingly outdated 16bit programs(Such as Exile Escape from the Pit) period. Atleast so Ive herd--and tried and seen to seem to be true. Not to mention a multitude of programs that SHOULD run--but just dont like it(Worms Armageddon, for one... though dunno if it works on wine)

Wine on Windows
Good day all, I think winehq project can become more popular and will get more donations if developers will make wine runnable under windows: after that it will be not hard to achive next goal - remote shell on win32: it will translate window's rendering to X11 for controlling remote windows applications via linux.
