Samba autofs autoumount problem with C$, D$, etc refusing to unmount

very careful about what uid and gid you use.)
The problem is that when I auto-mount drives such as \\windowsbox\C$
as /mnt/cifs/windowsbox/C$, the automounter can become confused by the
$. The result is that "mount" and "df" report things like
"/mnt/cifs/windowsbox/C$$$$" as being mounted, but they're not there,

"rsync: not found" error with sshwindows
...a Windows XP system running
sshwindows. I can use gFTP and log in just fine. sshwindows is based on
cygwin so you just use /cygdrive/c/ to access the Windows C: drive, etc.
But for some reason, rsync is having problems transferring files to this system:
[1710][~]$ rsync -av /tmp/foo.txt user@windowsbox.com:/cygdrive/c/
user@windowsbox.com's password:

Problems with password authentication on Samba as an AD-Member
...w no errors on the domaincontroller.
After that, with the new domaincontroller, everything works fine, except
the passwordbox-thing (only with the Samba-Server, shares offered by
windows computers can be accessed as before the crash)
Users are only able to use the Sambaserver, when logged in to a
windowsbox, which is a member of the domain. Otherwise, instead of the
password-dialog, a messagebox appears after a long time of waiting,
saying "file \\servername\sharename not found".
There are no errors reported. Neigher on the DC, nor on the
Samba-Server. On the Sambaserver, I found out, that...

Session startup failed
...trying to configure Samba 2.2.8a (running on Debian woody).
I've also been trying to get PAM working so as to be able
to authenticate against a Win2k network server. I think something
I did to get that working has broken something else :(
I can smbmount to a windows share.
i.e.
smbmount //windowsbox/chris /tmp/chris -o username=chris%password
works with no problems.
I can ping my linux machine from a windows machine.
testparm seems to pass the smb.conf ok - unless the winbind separator

smbmount uclinux
Hello All,
Is there any information other than uclinux-dev mailing list that
outlines the proper way to use smbmount on uclinux? I have looked
through the mail lists on uclinux-dev and googled everything that I
could think of.
I have tried every form of the smbmount //windowsbox/share /mnt -o
options I can think of. I always get ERRDOS ERRnoaccess (Access
Denied).

adding a windows machine into an existing VPN.
...evice and named it VPN, with ip 192.168.2.101 and subnet
255.255.0.0.
when i start tinc on windows it complained about missing tinc-up or
mutombo-up files.(hope they dont needed and only for llinux ??)
the both tinc connects together, but there dont happen anything. when i
start a ping from the windowsbox its seems not to pass the VPNdevice.(no
packages are shown.)
I already tried to add mode = switch to the windowsconfig, but i doesnt help.
i dont know what im doing wrong.

Well I figured it out..
did not know that I could make a host file on the winblows client. I knew
about the lmhosts file however..

Strange ActiveRecord error popping up
Hello guys, I''m developing a new app in Rails, and every now and then
I get an ActiveRecord error, I cannot reproduce exactly what triggers
