ESS windows/linux
...ux i'm trying Xemacs and ESS for first in Windows. Install all and get the Rd-Menu in Xemacs, but if i want to "Eval a region" of R-Code i get the message in the below window "No ESS Processes running"! P.S. Have anybody written a document like "Using R-Project - from Windows2Linux" which describe the differencies in one small paper. If not, perhaps i summarize in next weeks my experience. Samba networking
...ng up the share, allowing anything/everything/everyone to connect, browsable, writeable, readable, basically unsecured everything, even no passwords, I still get this error message. My question, is it possible to even allow Linux2Linux network sharing with Samba? Everything out there is geared for Windows2Linux. If it is possible what would I have to do to my smb.conf file to enable this? I am really trying to get away from Windows and peer2peer networking is my biggest hang-up. Drive letter map to Samba using ssh or scp?
OK, what I want to do is access files on my Samba server remotely. Currently, I can use WinSCP, but this isn't ideal because it is more like an FTP client, where you have to download a file, edit it, upload it. I could set up a VPN (using open source software), but these can be kind of a headache to get working (I've done it before) and they don't necessarily support multiple
