hello, i tried to upgrade from 3.0.2a to 3.0.6 tonight. my smb.conf is below. (i upgraded by apt-get install "samba samba-common winbind" ) it didnt work : i was asked for a username and password for everything even when i tried to acces the shares' root with its unc name ( \\server ). do u have any information on that ? somethng changed in the authentification ? my server is a

NT4 domain: users not found
Hi all; ... trying to get a samba setup running atop debian gnu/linux, I am stuck in a strange situation: I set up the samba box to be part of a Windows NT 4 domain, did a net join (which obviously worked, at least a computer account on the PDC was created) and configured the machine to see the domain user accounts (wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g are working, same as there are domain users listed while

I'm trying to have a linux client to identify users against a AD server (w2k3). I'm using ldap as winbind backend, but using files I get same errors: On 900 users, some of them aren't fully recognised: doing a "wbinfo -u" I see the user in the list, but a "getent passwd user" return nothing.
