file_column + restrictions
...ads using file_column/rmagick? I''d like to be able to, in my
controller/model, check the size of an uploaded image, and if it''s size
on disk exceeds x amount, I''d like to indicate to the user that this is
a no-go and kill the temp file.
Any ideas?
Thanks a ton.

.Random.seed not found
...in=1)
module glm loaded
Error: object '.Random.seed not found
I don't think it has anything to do with rjags or R2jags because when I run the
same code on the same system, I receive no error messages.
The R version is 2.14.0 on a Linux 64 machine.
Any help would be appreciated.

...ow from LLVM?
Is it supposed to be possible for me to render out an LLVM
datastructure that will verify but not render? That is, is this my
bug or an LLVM bug?

Strange Behavior!
I've setup asterisk on a Dell Poweredge 1300 Server. PIII 600, 500mb
Ram, SCSI HD's. It is running Fedora Core 1. I have 3 X100P cards and 6
Grandstream IP phones.
Everything works but the sound quality with the FXO cards is poor. Static and
choppiness. It works great between the IP phones.
The only way I can get good sound quality with the FXO cards is to

partial term query by default
My customers seem to expect that the world of search is dictated by
Google. As such they expect all queries except phrase queries to
include partial term hits. In other words, searching on "test" also
returns "testing".
Is there a quick option to enable this or anyway more elegant than
gsub''ing the query to add asterisks around each term (except those in
phrases of

[LLVMdev] code generation goes into an infinite loop
We seem to be creating an infinite loop in llvm while trying to
implement the simplest possible code generation. Specifically, we are
trying to emit code for the following program, as it is easily
testable from the command-line:
int main(int argc) { return argc; }
We got our code generator to build and link with llvm. When we run
it, it pauses when running the PrintModulePass and then

Scott McPeak is rather familiar with the internals of gcc and edg and
says elsa is far simpler.

Er. Hm. Can you explain the name? The problem with names like
"ellsif" is that it sounds like "else if". I like the

[LLVMdev] Status of Elsa->LLVM
I'm a little further along now. I've started to put together a simple
driver for Elsa and LLVM that I'm calling "ellsif" (cute name, I think
it works).
The file being compiled is a "printf" function. Here are timing results
for optimized and unoptimized runs:
[~/elsa/ellsif] dev% ./ellsif -v test/ofmt.i -time-actions
Adding test/ofmt.i as a preprocessed C file

Best Practices Question
Should models call action mailers, or should those calls always
originate from controllers? For example, should user.forgot_password
send the email, or should the user_controller.forgot_password?
Just looking for some opinions...
Thanks,

I'm not sure what the "important notes below" are for gcc 4.0.1 as

Gang,
Let''s say I have a search form that takes two pieces of search criteria:
for the purposes of this discussion, let''s use ''zip'' and ''radius''. Is
there a rails idiom for validating that user-provided input meets some
conditions before moving forward with a particular action? For
instance, I want to ensure that the user has provided me

[LLVMdev] [Oink-devel] Elsa and LLVM
Wow! Cool!
Hey, if you sign my contributor agreement, we can consider making your
Elsa/LLVM compiler an Oink tool. Scott's intention is for Elsa to be
basically "done": that is, aside from bug fixes, it shouldn't have
more features. Oink is basically a bucket into which to throw tools
like this one that use Elsa as a front-end.

I would really like to avoid shipping multiple preprocessors as part
of the standard elsa/oink project.
