TDM400P Card (Rev G) with bad FXS module?
...loads ok, but the wctdm reports No such device or address and
stays loaded. The TDM400P is rev G if that means anything. When I do a
ls -l /proc/zaptel/* there's nothing there.
I'm pretty sure my configs are correct. I copied them verbatim from
http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/wildcard_tdm400p.html and my card
is setup the same way with the green FXS Module in TEL1 and the red FXO
module in TEL2. (I believe thats the standard way they come from
Digium.) I purchased this probably two years ago.
I've tried both the stable zaptel and CVS zaptel. I tried moving the
modules to 3 a...

Why I need zlib1g to do installation for Zaptel? Will
zlib1g do compression or it will what extactly do
during the installation process?

Test System?
Is it possible to set up Asterisk without any of the cards? I'm
interested in setting it up for the company I work for, but I would like
to set it up and see how difficult it will be before I start having the
company spend a chunk on equipment.
Additionally, what phones can be used with Asterisk? we currently use a
NEC Nitsuko phone system with phones, but I have been confused as how to
set

Minimum budget question ...
I've tried to figure out from the web site the minimum hardware cost to run a
small office Asterix solution but I'm afraid I miss something:
Let's say that I want to connect four/five analogic extension to the PBX.
I have:
- 1 computer as the server (with linux and Asterisk on it)
- 1 dummy patch panel to connect all the analogic phones around the office
