CentOS 7, systemd, nmcli, wifi, oh, my...
I've been googling, but haven't come up with a satisfactory answer to the question of how I permanently turn off wifi on a workstation or server (which are *all* hardwired). I see I can turn wifi off... but I don't know that it's permanent. mark

Centos7- WiFi not recognized - HWaddress - Or Any Idea
Hello, I recently installed centos7+Gnome on my macbook air , at first start the wireless adaptor , which is the (infamous?) BCMA4360 , seemed to work because I was asked to choose the network and provided password, but thereafter wifi did not appear, so I can connect to the Internet only by cable. Googling a few days and checking on my computer I found the following:- the infamous wifi adapter

using Wifi smartphones as SIP clients
All, has anyone any experience in using Wifi smartphones as SIP clients? Does this work properly? What models/brands are optimal for this (in terms of ease of use, battery life etc)? Thx!! B.

Configure WiFi at install on CentOS Stream 9
Hi, I'm trying to install CS-9 and need to have WiFi setup on boot. I've tried installing with KVM as a test but only get the choice of an ethernet connection at install time. I've tried installing onto a spare laptop and it gives a choice of ethernet or WiFi for network connections. I choose WiFi and it allows me to configure the WiFi. It detects the network and the IP-address.

NT style domain users on Win10 cannot connect WIFI
...ealize it's not necessarily Samba type of a question but since this community here is vast with lots of win experience I thought I'd poke - same one winstation(ver. 1903) and computer's domain users when logged in can connect WIFI no problems, only Samba domain users cannot (to the same WIFIs). Anybody? many thanks, L.

CentOS 7 32-bit WiFi Hardware Switch
Not exactly linux-dependent. According to the docs for the Latitude 620 (available on dell dot com), the wireless switch is on the left side. Slide it towards the front, until its raised position indicator is aligned with the I ("off" is aligned with the O). The WiFi power indicator is on the front panel, in a group with about 4 LEDs... the WiFi indicator appears to actually *say*

UTStarcom F1000 WiFi IP Phone Review
I bought a UTStarcom F1000 WiFi IP Phone from http://www.luxoncomm.com and tested it with Asterisk. This is a my first impression of the device. The F1000 supports SIP. It looks and operates like a cell phone, and connects to the Internet through WiFi, so you can use it at any WiFi hotspot. I set up a 802.11b wi-fi network with a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless-B broadband router with no security

Looking for a wireless phone... wifi ortraditional wireless ?
In that example you could make outgoing calls only correct? (since incoming likely needs port forwards) I guess the questions becomes "how often are you going to do that to justify the extra $100 or so you going to pay for a wifi sip phone?" Wifi - Managed access points...
Hi, I'm working on a Wifi VoIP project specification. It will have almost 8 APs and 20-30 wifi phones. And after some research, I still having some questions ... 1) Are Managed Access Points (and switch controllers) really important to implement good wifi woip (w/ low latency and acceptable handover time) ? 2) What is the difference between (3com WX1200 + 3com AP 3750) and (DES-1228P +

T-Mobile and WiFi Voip
I had a friend yesterday showing me his new T-mobile blackberry with WiFi Voip. I could not believe it until I actually saw him making calls. There is no T-Mobile cell coverage at my house but he was able to simply access the WiFi router and make the call. It appears this VoIP offering is tightly integrated since you use the same phone number to make and receive calls over WiFi or Cell.

SIP/WiFi handsets?
Anyone know of any *portable* SIP/WiFi handsets? Looking for a decent price:quality ratio, of possible. Keep seeing handsets for Vonage, etc., in Best Buy and the like, but I imagine it's locked to Vonage, and can't be re-appropriated. Thanks! -Ken -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

[Bridge] bridge problem when one interface is in blocking mode
Hi, We have a simple bridge setup but the ping (and other network traffic) does not work reliably. After tracing the code, it looks like a software bug. Since bridge software is been running by thousands of people. I guess I am wrong. Anyway, here is the problem. There are 2 boxes and each one has 2 interfaces, 1 ethernet and 1 wifi. STP is enabled for the bridge to avoid the loop. So the box 1

Best wifi IP phone for asterisk
We're looking at a large wifi phone deployment, and we're looking for wifi phones that: 1. Are SIP compliant (Asterisk friendly) 2. Provision capable (ideally TFTP of own MAC address) 3. Industrial quality (no cheap plastic stuff). 4. Well documented (and none of the "only telco's get documentation" crap) Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks, MD -------------- next

intel wifi and bridging - have u done it?
changed mode from router to switch on 2 Linux and 2 WinXP nodes. configured Linux bridging per the website and that worked for hardwired ethernet over cat5. For the wifi wireless xp clients, i didnt have any luck. Maybe i did something wrong, but it seems so easy to create a bridge in xp. highlight 2 or more nics, right click and choose bridge. Did it numerous tmes years ago, but not sure w

Headless Centos 7 "File and Print Server" install - configure WIFI
Google has done it's usual job and returned lots of results but not led me to a solution. I've just build a Centos 7 "File and Print Server" config, i.e. no screen/keyboard/mouse and no GUI installed. The LAN connection has worked out of the box and I can SSH into the server without issue. However, I cannot find out how to configure the WIFI connection which I need in

Reliable way of having both LAN and WIFI on headless box
Once again I am building a headless Centos 7 box that needs to reliably be on both the LAN and WIFI network at all times. Amongst other things it's going to be an AirPrint bridge enabling IPads to print to printers on a different VLAN. I have asked about this before and got a solution working using nmtui to set up both the LAN and WIFI interface, and activate them. However, the WIFI
