Fw: Cannot Authenticate via LDAP
Hello Christian,
I tried what you suggested by adding "REFERALS off"
to /etc/ldap/ldap.conf and restarting slapd and dovecot, but the error
persists.

Fw: share a folder rw, but not deletable?
...uot;chattr +i
dir/" and that didn't work... as now the users could not r/w data within
the directory. I don't want the directories to be renamed or deleted.
Windows has the "delete" permissions available -- but not samba?
Any UNIX/Samba suggestions?
thanks, peace

the minor tick marks appear between the tick marks which would have been
drawn without the option xaxt="n".
I use R.2.8.1.

[PATCH] auth: Fixed mech_winbind_ntlm by using mech_winbind_auth_initial()
Hi folks,
attached is a trivial patch which is fixing Winbind/NTLM authentication in
dovecot 2.0
series.
The patch was made against 2.0.8 sources, but there should be no problem
applying it
onto HEAD, because 'src/auth/mech-winbind.c' wasn't touched for quite some
time now ;)
I tested the patch with a dovecot 2.0.8 running on linux, authenticating

Sync Linux <-> NT Domain passwords
Is there a way to syncronise the Windows Domain passwords
with the linux account passwords?
SAMBA passes authentication to an NT box
password server = *
Users have local accounts on the Linux box and get access to SAMBA shares
depending on which group (linux) they belong to and if their authentication
credentials were correct.
I've tried synchronising their passwords so when they change

Machine trust account reqd in 2.2.3a?
Greetings,
I was reading over the documentation online for using SAMBA as a PDC, and
in the section about creating machine trust accounts is talks about having
to add machine accounts to the /etc/passwd file. The text also mentions
that future versions of SAMBA will remove this requirement:
"Because Samba requires machine accounts to possess a UNIX uid from which

Forensics CD Toolkit for FreeBSD
Hi,
I'd like to build a toolkit CD specifically for conducting
forensics on FreeBSD. I'm not talking about a bootable
CD but rather one that I could pop into a CD ROM drive
and run trusted commands like ps, netstat, ls, etc., from.
I'd like to build a CD that would work on -RELEASE versions
of FreeBSD like 5.1 and -STABLE versions of FreeBSD too.
Can anyone give me any pointers

Samba 2.2 + CUPS driver download work for anyone?
I have tried everything I could possibly think of to get printer driver
download working with Samba 2.2.3a-6 and CUPS 1.1.15-4 (latest Debian
unstable packages). I am wondering if anyone else has go this to work at
all (with newer versions of samba or cups?) -- if so please let me know to
give me some hope. Or else I am thinking this is officially 'broken'.
CUPS is working perfectly

as for the postfix side everything is OK (all the LDAP lookups works
without any error, tested also manually with postmap -q)
