Any suggestions for backing up an imap server and whould maildir or dbox be better than mbox?
Hi, we run a Red Hat EL 5.2 mailserver with dovecot as the imap server. Mails are stored in mbox format and there are about 134GB of mail. At the moment users copy their importent mail to their workstation accounts wich are backed up nightly. What are your suggestions to back up the mails not copied? Thanks for any comments. BTW: Dose changing the mailbox format from mbox to Maildir or dbox

We have set up the switch to have a vlan for both networks like in this = picture: http://www.karthaus.nl/r/r1.gif this way all hosts on the switch can use ips from either network. However if one of the routers fails, one of the ranges fails. This = happens quite a lot but this whould not be a problem if we had spanning = tree that whould allow us to use both uplinks for both networks. Multiple samba servers with LDAP

Flags in pam_password_change_required() (auth-pam.c)
Hi I just "stumbled" over the flags settings in pam_password_change_required(). As far as I looked over the OpenSSH code, setting/resetting the 2nd bit in those flags from auth-options.c whould only make sense if the flags are checked to be 0/1 in the remaining OpenSSH code. Frank

I am trying to install mySQL 1.41 from the ports tree, but it hangs. He says that: "The host 'hostname' could not be looked up." I changet the hostname to the correct one. $ hostname server.com And it still hangs and says this error. It said that --force whould do it, but I don't know how to do this.... :( I tried: $ make install --force But it didn't work... Please help!

\include-mechanism in Sweave?
Dear HelpeRs, I'm very fond of Sweave and I use it as often as possible. It'a a pity I can't use it for larger projects or can I? For instance suppose I have three files file1.rnw, file2.rnw and file3.rnw with Sweave code. Working on file2.rnw I whould like to exclude file1.rnw and file3.rnw temporarily and joining all of them later. Append one Ogg file to another ?
...n this mailing list, but I did not find anything appropriate in the list archive. The question is quite simple: How can I append an Ogg file to an other ? Althought I must admit that I didnt try it, I believe that just a 'cat part-2.ogg >> part-1.ogg' won't do it, because then I whould have the user-tags twice, and different stream-serial-numbers in one stream ? I think technically, this should be possible - does there exist a tool to do this (like vcut for cutting an Ogg into 2 pieces) ? Thanks... compaq r4000 32 bit and 64 bit install
...up. Anyway just reporting that so far the 32 bit install and the 64 bit install is Exactly the same. So I am expecting that after install my cpu speed will still be reported LOW (997M vs a 2.4GiG for a 4000+ cpu). Any experiences out there with the 64 bit amd and maximizing speed when plugged in whould be appreciated. Jerry

...time = now and reset kbps_bytes = 0 . then go back to 2 I think this is a good solution because all socket writes are done with sock_write*() so we catch them all this way. Problem is that I think I need a mutex on this values (kbps, kbps_time, kbps_bytes) and it seems sock.c didnt use any yet. Whould it be a problem to use one ? (and include thread/thread.h ?) Setting Win ACLs via Comp Managment, connection to Member Server warning
...us if changes can be made. SeDiskOperatorPrivilege on ADDC is granted to BUILTIN\Administrators and Domain Admins But the Member Server has that permission granted only to BUILTIN\Administrators. Why? Is this normal? Hello I have one question about cluster and vmware. I have about 10 computers they are all old once from 1g and 256 ram. And now im thinking of putting them all toghter in one cluster. This cluster should be an high performing so all computers share they performance. Now on this cluster i whould like to install one vmware server and make that vmware server get the power from all these computers. And install a os in that vmware server. Simulating points from GLM corresponding to new x-values
