Whoo Hoo! I got a working Windows Build of wxRuby
I finally got a working native windows build of wxRuby (using a static build of wxWindows so everything is in a single dll -- wxruby.so)! Two things contributed to my success: 1) building wxWindows with the vc++ makefiles (instead of the vc++ projects), and 2) very careful attention to compiler/linker flags specified in extconf.rb. Kevin, I had to modify app.cpp, depend, extconf.rb, and wx.h. I

Linksys WIP300 WiFi Phone
Whoo hoo! I just received my WIP300 from voipsupply. I have to let it charge before I can play with it. A few quick comments: - I started a Wiki page at voip-info to post issues, firmware news, etc. I really like the wealth of info on the GXP-2000 page, so I wanted to start something similar fo...

Trying to Overide Class Object Methdos For Testing
...date(params) to return true. Other times I want it to fail and throw an exception. Thus, I can''t rely on the Mock ValidationMaster class definition to take care of this. But then I thought, HEY, within each test I can open up the singleton class for the ValidationMaster class object. Whoo hoo, I''m in charge now! def test_stuff class << ValidationMaster def validate(params) raise ValidationException end end vm = ValidationMaster.new vm.validate("Jeff") end But, when I run my test, the exception is not getting thrown. The methods I...

multi domains (not two way trust)
...e, and have it connecting successfully to our windows 2003 network in ads mode. i have tested the folder permissions and everything works fine, no password prompts, just like a win box with a file share. the latest samba release also seems to stop spamming our logs with pre authentication errors! whoo hoo! the only problem i now have is that we have a second domain which doesn't trust our first domain. ordinarily, we can give users from that domain access to folders on our first domain. so, dom1 trusts dom2. dom2 doesn't trust dom1. on samba, even though i specify both domains in the...

Vista problem, with ADS samba
I am running samba 3.0.28 on linux servers using ADS security, without any problem. However when I added a vista workstation to the mix, it simply cannot connect to my printers. I can connect to my data/ or disk shares again without any problem from both 64bit vista, and 32 bit vista. When I try to access my printers though I get "Windows cannot connect to the printer, Operation

Simple Question: adding points to a boxplot
I apologize in advance for the simplicity of this question. I use R 2-3 times a year, and I seem to forget more in the intervening months than I learn during my days of panicked reading.... I HAVE tried looking at the help resources; I'm just not very good at understanding them. I have a dataframe with 18 observations of 5 different things, and a second dataframe with and estimate for those

Prototype Ajax + File Uploading-- How?
Good evening! I''m currently trying to submit some data and a file upload through Ajax. I''m using rails & prototype, and somewhere there''s a disconnect. I''m reasonably convinced the file upload isnt being sent at all, or if it is, Rails has absolutely no idea. The form itself heads with: <form onsubmit="new

removing special/syntax characters
Is there any somewhat standard way to remove or otherwise handle special or syntax characters from a user''s search, such as a colon? I was thinking maybe there was something akin to Ferret::Analysis::FULL_ENGLISH_STOP_WORDS, like Ferret::Analysis::FERRET_SYNTAX_CHARS, but no such luck. How are other folks dealing with filtering user input? John

Problem with many files in rsync server directory ?
Hi all, I've been running rsync successfully from cron jobs for the last six months across a local network. The cron jobs are very simple. They run rsync on a client machine, connect to an rsync server on a server machine (no ssh or rsh involved), and copy files from the server to the client. That's all. There are several jobs, one for each directory on the server, and between them

Billing/Call Control engine : AGI scripts/ AstMan API
Hello ppl, Have implemented a really nice Billing engine using AGI scripts. So far it works fine, tho haven't yet put it in the torture cell. The AGI scripts have been written in PHP, using MySQL for the billing and profile information. The major disadvantages I see using AGI scripts : 1. A new process(invocation of PHP scripts) on every new call. 2. MySQL connections on every instance of

Domain admins not getting local admin rights
Hi there, I switched servers yesterday. The old server was running 2.2.7a-1 on RedHat 8.0. The new server is 3.0.8-0.pre1.3 on Fedora Core 3. I did the migration by copying the following: /etc/passwd /etc/group /etc/shadow /etc/samba/* I then copied /home and fixed all the permissions on stuff. I then started up samba on the new server, and unplugged the old one. Most everything went
