Samba and Terminal Server Whitepaper
Attached is a 500KB read-only .doc file with a Samba and Terminal Server
whitepaper. I have tried to hit every known issue and all available
workarounds. If anyone has comments or suggestions, let me know. JT
has it, so it should end up in the next How-To. Sorry about the file
format, but the .pdf was 2.5MB, which I thought was too big to post.

Website, book, paper, etc. that shows example plots of distributions?
By any chance is any one aware of a website, book, paper, etc. or combinations of those sources that show plots of different distributions?
After reading a pretty good whitepaper I became aware of the benefit of I the benefit of doing Q-Q plots and histograms to help assess a distribution. The whitepaper is called:

Oplock Usage Recommendations Whitepaper
I have written a whitepaper for CIFS/9000 Server (Samba on HP-UX) that
discusses some rudimentry usage recommendations for oplocks. Due to
the recent discussion about oplocks on the list, I have edited the paper
to be more generic for Samba on HP-UX and converted it to plain text.
It's still 7 pages long, so it may be inappropriate to paste into an
email. If there is any interest in it, I

(preview) Whitepaper - ZFS Pools Explained - feedback welcome
Hello list,
while following this list for more then 1 year, I feel that this list was a great way to get insights into ZFS. Thank you all for contributing.
Over the last month''s I was writing a little "whitepaper" trying to consolidate the knowledge collected here. It has now reached a "beta" state and I would like to share the result with you. I call it

[LLVMdev] mips16 whitepaper
I found this the other day while surfing the web. For those wanting to
understand about Mips 16, it's a very easy and quick read. If you
already understand Mips, it will make the llvm Mips16 port much easier
to understand. It has just the overview information one needs. Of course
full Mips 16 documentation is available at Mips.com.

Help with research for an enterprise Rails whitepaper
I''m wrapping up a paper on using Rails in the enterprise for the Fortune
500 company I work for. I''ve done quite a bit of research and I think I
can present a pretty compelling argument, however I''m still looking for
examples. If you have personal examples or links to web resources I
haven''t found, I''d apprecate it. Once the paper is complete it

Asterisk Clustering and DUNDi J Richardson whitepaper
Hi All
We're getting to the point where we need to start increasing capacity on
our asterisk servers.
I've had a look at the DUNDi J Richardson white paper and it seems
pretty straight forward.
My question is have any of you implemented this solution in a production
environment?
Regards
Ish

I will. I owe a very long mips16 write up , especially for floating
point when I'm done.
It's very complicated the way they implemented hard float in gcc and it
is not documented.
It took me some thinking and

M-Box benchmark
.../Mbox to Dovecot/Maildir a box with
45k local users, 3.5MB/s sustained IMAP/POP traffic in work hours. The
main performance gain is from mbox -> maildir switching. Anyway the
users (and myself) "perceive" a good performance with the new setup.

Sample-granularity file length and editing whitepaper
A few folks have asked for specifics, at the spec level, on how sample
granularity editing works in Vorbis. So, here's a whitepaper as the
beginnings of a real document. This doc is also in CVS on branch_beta3.
Note that vorbisfile is not actually tested with the beginning
sample-offset spec for editing. I'll be testing/fixing any bugs in
vorbisfile on that front now, and keeping

s extension don't work on TDM40B
Hi all,
i have read in the * whitepaper the following:
"s: The "start" extension. A call which does not have digits associated with
it (for
example, a loopstart analog line) begins at the "s" extension."
I think this means the s extension will be execute when the phone is picked
up.
But when i pick up the phone the s extension will be never executed.

RFC: XRay -- A Function Call Tracing System
TL;DR: At Google we use a call tracing system called XRay which inserts
patchable instrumentation points into function entries and exits. If the
community is interested, we'd like to contribute this system to the LLVM
project. Many more details are contained in the whitepaper at:
