OLS BoF? Mainline Virtualization API status?
Folks,
OLS is fast approaching. There is a session on virtualization
at the Kernel Summit, with Keir and Zach invited, which will
probably last an hour(?). There is also a Xen BoF currently
scheduled (Thursday, 7/20, 7:00PM) which will cover Xen specific
issues. And there are approximately 3 or 4 paper presentations
on related subjects. None of the above are going to allow for
adequate time to

Patch to add option-key menus (similar to SuSE patch)
I've written a patch to add option-key submenus to menu.c32 and
vesamenu.c32 for doing things like changing the video mode. This was
inspired the the patch that SuSE applies to the syslinux family and
Grub, without the ugly pseudo-PostScript spaghetti.
The patch may be found at

Hackers on my Web server
I have discovered that a gamer has hacked into my web server through a
backdoor left open by my predecessor. I have closed the door, but when I
try to delete the folders left behind I receive "Access Denied", or when
I try to take ownership I receive "Unable to Find File...". I have
removed most of the files to obtain enough space to continue operations
but would like to remove

Complex Routing/Firewalling/Bridging question
I''m being cast headlong into unfamiliar waters here, and being desperate for
some air, thought I''d come here for some help. :)
Anyway, my employer is going through some whiplash-inducing growth spurts,
and as a result, the simple "Internet T-1 -> Linux Firewall/NAT -> LAN"
setup just isn''t going to cut it anymore.
First, we''re bringing in 2 additional T''s and want to use BGP to provide for
some measure of failover to an Class...

...I cannot get into the other
folders on the Linux box from the windoze machines. Can anyone help
with this ? I would have posted the smb.conf file as well but I
didn't want to dump useless junk into someone else's mailbox.
Thank you

extlinux graphical menu with function keys
# Hi all,
#
# I have a question regarding the syslinux menu as used on the Ubuntu,
# Sabayon, ... live CD's.
# According to the syslinux documentation the function keys can be used
# to display a help file, but in the menu of these live distros the
# function keys are used to pick the resolution, language and keyboard.
#
# I would like to bind a submenu to these function keys. Is this

Function key menu patch
I sent this a few days ago, and it doesn't seem to have showed up in the
archives... so I'm resending.
I've written a patch to syslinux-3.60-pre2 to add gfxboot-like function
key submenus, without the ugly pseudo-PostScript scripting nightmare. :)
It still needs some debugging - it gets slightly confused if you hit a
function key assigned to a submenu if you're already
