Question on the R's C stack limit
...n. In the R-exts document, it says:"Note that R's own front ends use a stack size of 10Mb". I desire to know: is it possible to decrease this stack size by modifying R's source code? If it's possible, which part of the source code is responsible for the issue? Thank you all. Whin [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

A minor beef
...nd the package supporters do a bang up job, but the one deficiency I've found is the fact that one can never rely on being able to get updates at any particular time. Whether it's CentOS proper or the Dag additions, something is broke most every time I want to apply updates. I know this is whin[ge]ing, and I certainly don't have a solution to offer. If anyone can offer bucks and/or equipment to improved the software distribution process, your karma would get an enormous boost!!! -- Collins Richey Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code ... question about R_ParseVector function
Hi r-devel, The R_ParseVector has been changed in R-2.5.0, and there is a simple description about the 4th argument at http://stat.ethz.ch/R-manual/R-patched/NEWS, it says that: "R_ParseVector() has a new 4th argument 'SEXP srcfile' allowing source references to be attached to the returned expression list. " I do not quite understand the purpose of adding the 4th argument. Would

Design changes are done in Fedora
...is released to everyone. One needs to either use what is compiled or be smart enough to take the source code and make it do what they want. That can be done .. but it is much easier to bitch about what someone else is doing that actually do something themselves .. so what you will see is a bunch whinning all over the Internet and people using whatever is released .. because the whinners are too lazy to actually work on an open source project. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Lets try this push again.. 2.5.1p2 bugs left.
Things that are still outstanding: 1) Solaris/Redhat/HPUX session.c patch. I've not seen a ya or na on Kevin's pam patch from the Solaris group. 2) Odd Redhat/Debian scp/ssh issues. .. I'm baffled, and I can't replicate the bug. Nor have I seen anything remotely like it reported. 3) SCO.. Is it happy yet for compiling? =) Completed: 1) mdoc2man.pl .. Commited into

Does R ever stop responding without a message?
Hi, Have any of you ever encountered a situation where R stops processing an instruction but does not give a "not responding" message? The reason I ask is I am working in RStudio (Mac OS/X 10.7, 1.8 Ghz i7, 4 GB DDR3) and the instruction I entered in the command line pane is still being processed since last night around 7 PM. I expected it to take on the order of 8-12 hours to
