Samba Team - 3.0.25c Seems Well in Standalone
Jerry, Everybody:
3.0.25c compiled from source on a mandriva 2005le server in my no
(AD, LDAP, Kerbose) environment. A full day of production and nothing
more that a whimper out of the system. So, at least in my case 3.0.25c
looks good.

Plugin Panic! - no accessing a model''s class methods?
Hi plugin-authors.
So this is a little bit of take two on this question, but why can''t I
access a singleton on the model calling my plugin? The crux of the full
plugin below is:
#logger.info self.class.to_s
new_copy = self.class.new( @copyable_attributes )
the logger spits out "Datatype", but I get an error from rails saying:

Folding@Home + CentOS 4.3 = success
The Folding at Home client seems to be a wonderful stressor of the CentOS
server systems I've been burning in. I've been running two copies of
the client on physical dual-core and single die dual-core machines for a
few days now. Nary a whimper from the machines and only a slight
elevation in temperature (they're 1RU rackmount systems with
aggressive/loud fans). In contrast, I

VP30
Hi,
Can anyone tell me the significant differences between VP30 and
VP31 (or are you allowed to)? Are there different token and quantizer
tables? Are there algorithmic differences? I have a VP30-encoded file that
plays with the VP3 VfW DLL but not with the open source decoder.
Thanks...

VDQ : Have I made a wine's nest?
Very Dumb Question here -- basically, am I in trouble? Or in other words,
I have to ask myself a Falstaffian question: "Which .wine, Bezonian?"
Let me expound.
On several lists for different parts of the problem, according to their
interest and my best judgment, I've been pursuing the topic of GPS/topo
map settings, under Crossover Office Pro 5.0.1 (CXO) using Fedora Core 4,

Problems with Intel Netport Printserver and Samba
Running RH6.0 I am able to print just fine from linux, the problem now is
getting smb printing working. I am using an Intel Netport Express PRO/100
printserver. Previous to my upgrade from RH5.2 when I had the printer
directly connected to the samba server, I was able to print just fine from
the windows client machines (not using the raw method)
My /etc/printcap is as follows

can''t get date_select to work
Hi,
I render a couple of date_select fields, the HTML looks fine, I can
see the values submitted back to the server, but AR doesn''t pick them
up from the hash in Booking.new(params[''booking'']).
I''ve got a ''booking'' object with parameters product, startdate and
enddate.
HTML snippets:

SELinux and "i_stream_read() failed: Permission denied"
Not a problem ... sharing a solution (this time)! Please correct my
understanding of the process, if required.
"i_stream_read() failed: Permission denied" is an error message generated
when a large-ish file (>128kb in my case) is attached to a message that
has been passed to Dovecot's deliver program when SELinux is being
enforced.
In my case, these messages are first run

Samba v3.0.23a BROKE my network
I run Samba as a PDC for a small network. I used to use smbpassword and
went through the pain of changing up to tdbsam.
I have just upgraded from v3.0.14a to v3.0.23a.
The immediate effect was that nobody could use their domain log in any
more.
I was upset. My users wished me to understand their frustration. It
was not my fault. I became cross. The dog got my dinner (it's an ill

Confusion with expressing many to many relationship
Hi folks, I am in the process of converting an existing non-rails
application to rails, and am not sure what the best approach would be
for specifying the relationship between the two sets of data.
I''ll describe the existing table structures first.
Table 1: Urls
Each url has a unique id and two lists of Phrases, these are currently
setup as varchars with "," delimitation -
