Replacing text
Sorry, another newbie question :-(
I loaded a data set with 10 rows and 30 columns. The first column is
characters for names of car manufacturers:
Jeep
Nissan
Toyota1
Toyota2
Etc.
How can I replace "Toyota2" with "Scion"?
Thanks again

I've been through the examples in the SEM documentation, and the Wheaton model (which I can run) is similar to mine. I found similar error messages in the help archives, so I tried setting the error of the latent variables to 1, and suggesting start values for one of the indicator variables associated with each latent variable, but I still get the same error message. Total (un)standardized effects in SEM?
Hi there,
as a student sociology, I'm starting to learn about SEM. The course I
follow is based on LISREL, but I want to use the SEM-package on R
parallel to it.
Using LISREL, I found it to be very usable to be able to see the
total direct and total indirect effects (standardized and
unstandardized) in the output. Can I create these effects using R? I
know how to calculate them

Salted hash login generator (verification problem?)
Hi all,
I hope someone can help with what is probably a simple newb
installation mistake on my part. I''m having a couple of problems with
the salted hash login generator. I installed it following the
quickstart guide, and the unit tests work like a charm. There are two
errors and a failure on the function tests, though; the verified field
seems to be involved in at least one of

Introduce yourself and your project -- Round 2
On December 14th, 2004 David Heinemeier Hansson sent this to the mailing
list:
I''m seeing a lot of new names on the list. Could
we perhaps do a round of introductions? That would
also be a great first post, if you haven''t had a
chance to contribute yet. The basics should include
your name, your organization, your country and city,

[dsound] config options
I have been having a problem with dsound. It will not recognize my
sound card in Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. I have been looking at
the config file in the dsound area but I am unsure of what to change
or even how to change it.
This is the error message
