How to send a call to a Polycom SIP phone with NO callerid whatsoever
I'm looking to send calls to a phone with no callerid data whatsoever shown
on the Polycom as far as missed call.
The specific application for this is that I have a 50 phone install with
some being used for paging. Paging works perfectly, but the problem is that
for every page there is a "missed call" shown on the screen.
I have access to the Pol...

CHECK-LABLE or CHECK?
Hi All,
I came across a FileCheck failure I don't understand why. The
example code below:
void test1() {

// CHECK-LABEL: @test1
// CHECK: void @llvm.memcpy.p0i8.p0i8.i32 - (1)
}
void dummy() { // make (1) match

[LLVMdev] s/ComputeMaskedBits/ComputeKnownBits/g ?
I've always found the name ComputeMaskedBits a bit unintuitive, and
since r154011 it's even worse because there is no masking going on
whatsoever:
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20120402/140280.html
Is there any appetite for a global rename to ComputeKnownBits? Or any
other better names?
Thanks,
Jay.

[LLVMdev] windows build
Hi all
I am building LLVM 2.6 on VC++. I am running into this problem
where even builds without any changes whatsoever causes rebuilding of
certain directories like table gen of intrinsics and x86 target files.
This then leads to build of the x86 codegen. Is this expected ? Any
pointers to how I can avoid this?
thanks

GrandStream 1.0.4.55 Firmware
Hello,
Anyone using the 1.0.4.55 firmware release with any success? I
have had my Budgetone running 1.0.4.50 for about a month and a half now
with no problems whatsoever, and I am a little leary about upgrading.

Use 4.10 backup in 4.9.4
...like to share the results of a little experiment I did yesterday.
On an Arch Linux box on which in December I tried, and failed, to upgrade
from 4.7.4. to 4.9.4 and then had to revert back to 4.7.4, yesterday I did
the upgrade to the new 4.10 release. This time, everything worked, I had no
errors whatsoever. So, I then made a backup of the new installation, in 3
different ways: Online backup, offline backup, and simple file backup of
the whole Samba folder including smb.conf.
Then, I had to move the backup to a new box running Ubuntu 18.04. The
latest available release there, currently, is still 4....

Questions about License and so on.

In plain text: can he create and distribute a component that uses the code
available in the Windows SDK, either in the DLL presentation and/or the
OBJ/LIB way without any restrictions? Does his code will have to be GPLed?
As far as I undesrstand, there is no restrictions whatsoever with the use of
the vorbis software libraries, other than there is an acknowledgement to
Xiph.org for using the codec source, isn't? He is not trying to use or
distribute other parts of the SDK (i.e., not vorbistools, etc). The only
function of this components will be to encode or decode...

rsync --daemon and logfile that can't be created
If the rsyncd.conf has a line such as:
log file = /var/log/rsync/log
and /var/log/rsync doesn't exist or isn't a directory (or the log file
can't be opened for any other reason), then there's no warning
whatsoever, as rsync forks itself into the background before checking
the config, opening the log file, etc.
Worse still, it gets a SIGSEGV, and dumps core. Here's a strace from a
fairly recent CVS:
15154 umask(022) = 0
15154 open("/var/log/rsync/log", O_WRONLY|O_APPEN...

Shorewall issues with GAIM
I am running Mandrake Linux 9.2 with Shorewall 1.4, and GAIM direct connect does not work, and it did before on my hardware router. Upon connection attempts, the program reports that the connection was attempted at 0.0.0.0:5190 for any user, and then promptly fails. The syslog does report that the packets were blocked. These are my stanzas in the rules file for shorewall configuration:

[LLVMdev] i1 Values
...strange happenings over here and I put an
assert in APInt to catch what I think is the source of the problem:
int64_t getSExtValue() const {
// An i1 -1 is unrepresentable.
assert(BitWidth != 1 && "Signed i1 value is not representable!");
To me an i1 -1 makes no sense whatsoever. It is not representable in
twos-complement form. It cannot be distinguished from unsigned i1 1.
It turns out this assert triggers all over the place. Before I dive
into this rat hole I'd like to confirm with others my sense that we
shouldn't be creating i1 -1 values. Is there some l...

yum update -> [Errno 4] Socket Error: timed out
...is error repeatedly:
[Errno 4] Socket Error: timed out
I'm getting this on every mirror and have gone through the list of
mirrors more than a dozen times.
Oddly, the RPMs I'm trying to upgrade I upgraded just yesterday without
a problem on another machine on the same LAN with no problems
whatsoever. I can ping mirrors fine.
There were a spate of these errors back in 2006. The fix for many was
to add this line to yum.conf:
timeout=300
So I did that on the machine where yum is having the problem, but the
same errors are returned.
Anyone else seeing this? Anyone know what the problem is...

Why echo occurs
Hi all,
Can someone give me a simple rational explanation why a $5 analog
handset gives me no echo whatsoever on an analog PSTN line, but
PSTN-VoIP devices such as the TDM400 and Sipuras do and thus require
software-based echo cancellation. Surely a $5 analog handset does not
have an "echo canceller".
The echo I mean is when I hear myself while talking to another party.
I have heard it said i...
