Implementation of W2K Group Policies from a Linux Server
...tion specifically on the possible implementation of Win2K Group Policies (as well as 'Domain' Authentication_ for the client machines, from a Linux/Samba Server. There will be approx 30 Win2K/WinXP Client Machines. Our questions are this: Is this possible currently with Linux/Samba? As weve found little info on this... If so, are there Graphical Management Tools for the User/Groups and Group Policies? As we envisage the possibility of relatively inexperienced ppl having to at times perform simple administration tasks... What sort of minimum specs are we talking, for a machine t...

Samba 3.0.21 +solaris 8 +xdm +pam +2003 AD
We have recently upgraded to : samba-3.0.21 openssl-0.9.7g krb5-1.4.3 openldap-2.3.11 db-4.4.16 cyrus-sasl-2.1.21 m4-1.4.4flex-2.5.31 autoconf-2.59 libiconv-1.9.1 gcc-3.4.2 bison-2.1 automake-1.9 libtool-1.5.22 and have got samba authenticating against our 2003 AD servers, however we now discovered that someone has setup xdm to use pam authentication to the old NT4 domain using xdm.pam and pam_smb_auth.so.1 weve tried repointing the pam_smb.conf file to the new domain controllers and it still wont authenticate is pam_smb still in use or is there a better way to do this? smb processes dying
...ever), until I kill the offending process. I haven't played with the dead time parameter, so maybe I should look into it, but I'm not sure it will help. this has been extremely frustrating and some in my department are beginning to question the use of Samba if it keeps doing this, because weve committed to using LDAP. Anyway, any help anyone else has in the matter would be appreciated. -jay >When a PC crashes the smb process does not die. OpenChrome video driver for Centos
I can find xorg-x11-drv-openchrome-0.2.901-1 for EL5, but not the current xorg-x11-drv-openchrome-0.2.903-1 (which only goes from FC8 on). Since my OQOs have the CX700M2 chip and there are listed enhancements for this chip in the 903 version, I would really like to get it...
