Hi Rsync Support,
Recently we encountered issue on our prod environment because the rsync seems hanging, it took time building the list.Previously the rsync process was working before 10:24am not until 10:25am. See sample log below.
We have one source server and the data files will be rsync to 2 webservers. Please advise what could be the cause of the issue.
Please let me know if you need

Assigning Week Numbers
R experts,
How could I extract the week number from a date vector (in Date class)
such that week numbering (week 1...2...) begins (May 01) and ends
(October 31) on the same specific dates each year? Week numbering
must conform to the following day numbering format (Sat=1,Sun=2,Mon=3.....Fri=7).
This means that new weeks must begin on Saturdays, and end on Fridays
(except for the first date

Can't get past the splash screen
Hi,
I have a remote frontend (it's kept in the room which I don't have access) which is installed with CentOS 4 and Rocks . So, to use the desktop(Gnome) of the frontend I use the freenx + nomachine following the guide in http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?forum=20&topic_id=1640&viewmode=threaded. It worked. Then, I intended to add user, but I couldn't create the

Using perl-Net-SSH-Perl with pubkey authentication under CGI.
Guys, I wonder if anyone can give me any pointers here, I hope it's
CentOS related enough not to be too off topic, if it is then
apologies.
I'm attempting to setup a CGI which can connect to a remote system and
execute a command.
On the 'client', for the Apache user 'apache' I've given it a shell
and generated a key-pair. I've configured Keychain [

Xorg fills up /var/log/Xorg.0.log with AUDIT messages (up to system crash)
Hi,
on a CentOS 6.4-workstation we have the problem, that Xorg fills up
/var/log/Xorg.0.log with AUDIT messages faster than one can read. Within
four hours the logfile grew to 160 MB and usually within 1-2 days
applications and sometimes the OS crash because /var becomes full.
Here a small extract of /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

[BUG] worker stopping abruptly
I have been facing this damn ugly issue since quite sometime.
So this worker reads RSS feed from Yahoo news and stores it in a DB.
The worker is scheduled to run at every 40 minutes and my

counting weekday in a month in R
Hi,
I am trying to count weekday of the month using R. For example, 1/4/2001
is the 4th weekday of Jan, and 1/5/2001 is the 5th weekday of the month, and
1/8/2001 is the 6th weekday of the month, etc. I get as far as extracting
the weekdays from a sequence of dates (see below). But I have not yet
figured out a fast way of counting without using a For Loop. Does anyone
know how to do such counting

winbindd/mod_auth_ntlm_winbind.so fail to use workstation credentials (NTLM+SPNEGO)
Hallo,
We protect linux/apache server with mod_auth_ntlm_winbind.so to
authenticate users with their domain accounts. The server is joined into
windows domain (Windows 2003 Server). Apache/mod_auth_ntlm_winbind.so is
configured for NTLM+SPNEGO authentication. So far users can login when
providing valid credentials.
Users login into their windows workstation (Windows XP SP2 IE/Firefox)

Sudden unexplained slowness on share (caused by duplicate UID?)
Hi,
We have 5 Samba domain controllers, and 4 file servers. All are
4.2.10-Debian. Our file servers have been working fine until recently
(on the 26th), when suddenly access to the
\\users.store.example.com\user share (hostname p-cats) became extremely
slow.
Access to other shares on other machines is fine, and users is 128G
total (smaller than other shares). The machine isn't under

Today's log - yum entries
Hi list,
I have the following entries, below, in today's log file (for yesterday,
10th May).
I don't run the automated yum-updated and didn't run a yum update
yesterday, and no packages were installed. Obviously the entries are old.
I was wondering if anyone could offer an explanation?
Thanks,
Ned

bug: recursive directory copy that re-copies nightly
I''m seeing a recurring, nightly copy of files which are not changing. I get the following message every night from tagmail.
1. It happens once per day (not every 30 minutes)
2. The files haven''t changed in months
3. The files aren''t changing -- there''s only one md5 in the clientbucket for each file
4. There''s no schedule on the resource

Wireless Production Servers Authentication of Active Directory with Inconsistent NTLM Auth Failures
Hi
I work for a medium sized University and have recently set up some new infrastructure to authenticate our wireless users of Active Directory. Every thing was working as expected or so I thought. I set up a monitoring script that performs an ntlm_auth every minute and it shows that the authentication is failing inconsistently but for around 5 minutes at a time (see below).
There are two
