Icecast status-json.xsl improvements
...k a look at http://icecast.org/docs/icecast-trunk/server_stats/ but can't find it (I'm probably looking in the wrong place, and if this is supported in Icecast 2.4 then shame on me for not knowing). And does that require authentication? Since (in my case) the caching of the info for the webplayer(s) is done using a plain PHP script I'd rater not plop password/credentials in it. Also websockets are not the best choice for PHP scripts etc. The way it all works is like this: The webplayer requests the url (PHP script) and get back the JSON data. However the script will do one of two th...

...sidetracked here now. Back to the JSON above, the first "date" is critical, this is the date This info was retrieved/provided and act's as a clock reference for the "date" fields in the song history array. Why a clock reference? Let me digress or a moment. Working on a webplayer myself right now I'm frustrated with Shoutcast v2 providing a nice history of songs but the UTC time is off, I'm assuming the server time is off by N amount of minutes (and I don't control that server), Shoutcast v2's http://127.0.0.1:8000/played?sid=1&type=json does not pro...

...ecast 2.4 then shame on me for not knowing). This is supported since a very long time, but not documented in a good way anywhere, unfortunately. And the output format of STATS is a bit weird too. > And does that require authentication? Yes, right now it still does, for 2.5 it was planned to allow different auth just for STATS, so that no admin credentials would be required for it. > > Also websockets are not the best choice for...

HTTP Basic Auth alternative
...a link like http://username:password at example.com:8000/mystream (HTTP basic authentication) it has a number of problems regarding browsers. Chrome for security reasons does not follow the link and shows a popup asking to enter the credentials but this destroys user experience for a site with a webplayer. It works fine afterwards. Internet Explorer does the same. It would be ideal if icecast would get the credentials from the GET parameters, something similar to http://example.com:8000/mystream?user=username&pass=password this would eliminate the browser problems with the basic auth. I am w...

Fwd: icecast client problem / forum activate problem
...ast, With low buffering streams for example with 40kbps, i have to wait up to 10 seconds before the player plays music. I haired that the problem might be that the buffering time of the new android 4.x versions has been multiplied a view times causing this problem. Do you know and alternative (webplayer) to use for android devices where i can set my own buffering time for low bit streams? with kind regards Leon Wanningen

Re What HTML5 radio player do you use ?
I used MediaElement.js - far from great (no tracknames) but it does usually work on mobile (Android, I don't have an IOS machine to text but I suspect it will be Ok)?problem is with HTML5 is it's spotty across the browsers even on Mac, and on Android pre 4.1 forget it - some work, some don't. Firefox for instance is HTML5 on paper, in reality because of file formats (MP3 support in
