installing Windows 2008 R2
Hi all, I''ve been trying to install Windows Server 2008 R2 under Xen 3.1 on Red Hat, but it keeps blue screening after the first reboot during the install. It seems to only affect 2008 R2. Windows Server 2008 installs fine, rebooting a couple of times along the way. With R2, it will go through the initial unpack and install, and then it reboots. I''m installing it

iscsi multipath fails
...native rdac drivers that came with the OS. Anyone using something similar? My guess is that it's either bad drivers, or a bad multipath config. I started with the default, but after tweaking different parameters, it's still not working. Any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks, Adam Wead -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... fencing nodes with drac under 5.9
...onga, via luci and ricci, but no success there either. Is anyone out there doing clustering with Dells and DRAC6 cards under CentOS 5.9? Or under CentOS 6 for that matter... I'm willing to update if it fixes this. thanks in advance, ...adam ____________________________________________ Adam Wead Systems and Digital Collections Librarian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum 216.515.1960 (t) 215.515.1964 (f)

IBM GPFS filesystem
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone might be able to speak about using IBM's GPFS filesystem as a means of storing virtual guests in a clustered environment with CentOS as the nodes and KVM as the hypervisor? I'm looking at using IBM's TSM software for archiving data from disk to tape. This requires buying a license for GPFS which is used in conjunction with TSM but can also be used

selinux prohibiting sssd usage
I've got a CentOS 6 machine that's slated to go into production providing some web and development-repository services. Part of the environment is gitweb, which works as expected with one glitch: SELinux doesn't allow gitweb.cgi to query sssd to display who owns the repositories. The audit log entries are pretty straightforward, e.g., type=AVC msg=audit(XXXXXXXXXXXX): avc:

KVM migration and time
Hi all, I have two Cent5.6 systems running KVM in a clustered configuration with Cent5.6 guests. Ntpd is running on both hosts and all guests. When the guest is booted onto either of the hosts, time stays synced. When I do a live migration to the other host, the time on the guest starts going haywire, fast-forwarding into the future at a steady rate. After digging around, this may be related

upload a file to new github repository
Though I've used version control systems before and even set up a couple over the years, and though it was simple to setup a github repository (which I did just a couple minutes ago), I can't figure out how to upload the first file to it. I'm logged in, on the repository's home page, but can't see an option for that. I also read instructions for set up on the web and the

Problem with bridged network
Hello! I''ve got CentOS 5.3 x64 as dom0 and the same OS for domU. I''ve installed it using the following manual: http://www.howtoforge.com/centos_5.0_xen Guest image was taken from stacklet.com Unfortunately, I can''t make domU working with public static IP. When I use bridged networking, the guest don''t have network connection at all. When I use routed

Disabling driver signature enforcement for Windows DomUs
Hi all, After loading the GplPV drivers for Windows Server 2008, I wanted to get rid of the annoying F8 option when rebooting each time. I looked at Ready Driver Plus, which seemed to work, but was only a workaround. It also seemed to kill my terminal connection from Dom0. After some research, I found another way: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=dseo Which will disable driver

iSCSI best practices
Hey folks, I had some general questions and when reading through the list archives I came across an iSCSI discussion back in February where a couple of individuals were going back and forth about drafting up a "best practices" doc and putting it into a wiki. Did that ever happen? And if so, where is it? Now my questions : We are not using iSCIS yet at work but I see a few places

Multiple guests on a bonded interface
Hello everyone, I''m trying to get multiple guests to connect their networks to the Xen network bridge xenbr0 that''s tied to two bonded interfaces. My current dom0 network looks like this: (eth0 + eth1) => bond0 -> pbond0 -> xenbr0 eth0 and eth1 are bonding under Red Hat EL5, and Xen is configured to use bond0 as the main network device. Xend-config is set to use the

mount.cifs with kerberos
Hi all, Has anyone been able to mount windows shares with mount.cifs using kerberos credentials? I can get a kerberos ticket at login or use kinit and then connect via smbclient: > kinit username > smbclient -k \\server\share I'd like to be able to mount the share like this: > mount.cifs //server/share /mnt -o user=username,sec=krb5 The above command returns: mount error 95 =
