Amateur Radio/FCC and the "none" encryption option
.... I
found some stuff in the archives that talked about old patches and
such, but the developers seem dead-set against adding "none" back in
as an option. Is this because nobody could demonstrate a "need",
only a "want"? Well, here's a "need"!

[OT] Conference room software
We have a very decentralized user base with no standard operating system
or utilities except for a web browser of some kind (no Exchange either).
What recommendations does the list have for software to coordinate
conference room reservations? It doesn't need to be responsible for any
kind of invitations or email notifications, really just a pretty
calendar where scheduled events can go. It

Upgrade fm 4.7 to 5.3: mptscsi module?
...13 rpm -qa | grep -i el4
Some of the el4 packages that are left are probably one's that I
installed by hand outside the yum repository scheme, but certainly
not all of them are. I expected the upgrade off DVD and then the
"yum update" to take care of most of those.

hopefully soon).
I have an extra Mac Pro (I know, how can I possibly call a Mac Pro
dual 2.8 quad core with 16gb RAM extra). So Mac Pro quad Core, 16gb
RAM, 4 x 1tb RAID level Seagate drives. I was going to load CentOS 5.4
on it, web, mysql

NTFS and elrepo
I have here a box which I dual-boot between CentOS 5.4 and an older
version of that "other OS" that I'm using to check out the ELrepo
version of kmod-ntfs. After installing as per the directions on the
ELrepo site, I can mount an NTFS filesystem, and when I type "mount"
with no options the output tells me that the target filesystem is
mounted read-write. However, when I

OpenSSH 5.1: call for testing
Hi,
OpenSSH 5.1 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing
on as many platforms and systems as possible. This release is one of
the biggest in recent years, with two hackathons' worth of improvements
and fixes for some of our most recalcitrant bugs.
Snapshot releases for portable OpenSSH are available from
http://www.mindrot.org/openssh_snap/
The OpenBSD version is
