aggregate wind direction data with wind speed required
Dear list users, I have to aggregate wind direction data (wd) using a function that requires also a second input variable, wind speed (ws). This is the function that I need to use: my_fun <- function(wd1, ws1){ u_component <- -ws1*sin(2*pi*wd1/360) v_component <- -ws1*cos(2*pi*wd1/360) mean_u <- mean(u_component, na.rm=T) mean_v <- mean(v_component, na.rm=T) mean_wd <- (atan2(mean_u, mean_v) * 360/2/pi) + 180 result <- mean_wd result } Does the aggregate function w...

color scale in rgl plots
...know how to take that palette and pick a color from it based on the value of X for a given data point. I'm fairly new to R and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I do - it's how to do the color mapping that has me stumped. plot3d(th1,ph,th2,type='s',size=wd1,col=????(rp1,0,0,1),cex=2,ylab=NULL,xlab=NULL,zlab=NULL,xlim=c(0,1),ylim=c(0,2),zlim=c(0,1),box=TRUE,axes=FALSE) I have also tried the more obvious col = rgb(a,b,c,d) where a,b,c,d are functions of X but I can't manage to come up with a nice looking color scale. Thanks in advance, David

LZO compression?
Hi, I don''t know if this has been discussed before, but have you thought about adding LZO compression to ZFS? One zfs-fuse user has provided a patch which implements LZO compression, and he claims better compression ratios *and* better speed than lzjb. The miniLZO library is licensed under the GPL, but the author specifically says that other licenses are available by request. Has this

.Call and Segmentation Fault
Hello to everyone! I use .Call to call a C function without arguments wich calls a fortran optimization package. My C function uses others C and Fortran functions and it works fine when I call it from a main() in a C program. But when I call it from R with .Call("name_of_the_c_function"), R gives me some weird output. This weird output is a worng answer to my optimization problem
