Hello list, I am having trouble listening to GSM files created by Asterisk using a browser. I am noticing that some of my users succeed in listening to them and some others don't. I guess it is something of a codec problem that does not seem to be installed on all machines (though they are all WinXP). Anybody knows what one should do to listen to GSM files? I just noticed that quality of .gsm files for using with asterisk is not that good.. is there any way to make then sound better? asterisks sample voices sound way better than theones recorded using applications like wavepad or with asterisk like unavailable messages... any tips? Do you know the command line for sox to adjust the volumen levels or gsm files (make the louder)? ...to do this with busy detect. I've tried: busydetect=yes busypattern= (120,60) busycount=30 On our Centrex system, after the hangup, I get a 2nd dial tone. Then a voice saying i've taken too long to dial, then a very fast busy. I've record these pulses into a wave and tried to use Wavepad to get an idea of the pulses in milliseconds. It looks to be 100ms on 60ms off. When putting this into place though, Asterisk never hangs up. Is there something else that I'm missing? Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Doug

Hi, When playing a wav-format (( low compression),(wav49-format?)) file with Windows Media Player, it plays the file and then sometimes bombs out with an error about how the file is corrupt or unsupported. If you listen to the file in wavepad you will hear the whole file, in Media Player the last 2-3 sec. is missing (not played). The file is recorded with monitor function. Does anybody know of a WINDOWS application (preferably freeware) that will simply playback asterisk GSM sound files, I don't want to record them, just playback the ones that are currently there. Any help would be greatly appreciated cheers
