Power burn test
I need a program that will just run everything at max so I can measure the max power used on some systems. My 'Kill a Watt' meter should show up early next week. SO run that CPU at max, using all memory, and keeping the harddrive spinning. I can jsut do pings on the lan card for it to stay awake. I have searched here and on the net and have come back with nothing.

APC BX ...MI series
Hello, Just wanted to clarify: what sort of issues did you have with the APC? Since last year there have been several posts such as https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/2347 about BX****MI (3-4 digits for wattage) series built (or flashed with firmware?) roughly in 2023-2024 as frequently reporting low-battery/replace-battery/all-good events in a short timeframe, both with NUT and apcupsd. The event itself might have taken a couple of seconds, but happens irregularly from a few times a day to many times an...

Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch recommendations
Hi listers, I am looking for people who have used Power over Ethernet switches, primarily in conjunction with Polycom IP 501's. I've been looking at the Linksys SRW224P, since I've had good luck with the SRW224 in our office. However, Nortel, Cisco, Adtran, etc. all have an offering, all of which vary in price. I would appreciate any input people have to offer. Thanks, James

TrippLite SmartPro UPS and nut-2.0.2
I have a TrippLite SmartPro UP (SMART3000RM2U) that shipped with the DB9 cable# 73-0866. nut doesn't recognize the UPS using the tripplite driver. I found this page: http://www.tripplite.com/support/download/PA12/help/device.htm The link lists the SmartPro series as using the cables 73-0724 or 73-0844 and the Internet 350/525 is listed as using a cable 73-0866. I have a few 73-0844s

Power Management and dom0 cpus
...(no domUs running) with an inline Watt/VA meter. It appears to enable full power management Xen dom0 must have all cpus by not limiting in kernel statement nor in xendconfig.sxp. In previous installations I cut them back to 1 or 2. The bonus of all cpus appears to be a 16% to 20% reduction in wattage/va consumption at idle. Pretty substantial when I consider that my electric utility rates have increased 75% (yep) in the past two years alone. My question is to anyone with experience with this is will I be seeing a significant performance hit on domU performance in either paravirtualized or...

OT: Home NAS device
I am looking for something that I can hack away like a NSLU2 but that thing only has one disc and worst of all its 100m interface. Anyone know of a device you can load Linux on that has maybe 2 discs like a NAS200 with a gig nic? I need a quiet device to act as a tftp-dhcp/web/dns system. I thought of just building one from a new Soekris board, or even a mini itx but hope there was something

system reboot often?
I just deployed * on my home system last Sunday. 2x since then the Zap hardware seems to have malfunctioned on some way. One time it would just screech out one FXS, even though it would ring. The other time * would bridge to my FXO but it never got out on the line. I have a new TDM400 with 3 FXS and 1 FXO. Both times I tried unloading the zaptel drivers (which worked) and reloading them,

APC BX ...MI series
I'm a long-time user of APC UPSs and apcupsd, but have been experiencing issues with recent APC units, although I have three BackUPS CS650 units which have had very little issue.. I've recently replaced the APC 1200 unit on my fileserver (running Slackware) with a CyberPower UPS and that appears to be well supported by NUT. However, I have an APC BX950MI unit which is currently being

tripplite smart2000rmxl2u product id 3014
First, apologies if this is the wrong mailing list to pose this question. That said, my question: This is my first time using nut. Just built nut-2.2.2. The tripplite driver does not support my version of the smart2200 which has a product id of 3014. Does anyone know about this ups? There is a 3012. I'm tempted to simply add the 3014 to tripplite-hid.c to see if it will "just
