use of file.show() under linux session....
...ow under a R session in X11 (gnome with MDK 9.2). I use R 2.0.0. When I enter : > file.show("/path/to/my/file/filename.txt" ,pager="gnome-terminal") the new window opens and then I just obtain the blinking cursor after the console prompt :-( I always obtain the same result, wathever the pager used (konsole, gnome-terminal...) When I open the file in the current window, it is displayed as any normal text file, so I don't understand. Well, it's trivial, but it could help me if I could see the file while working in another window with the R session... of course, I could...

Manage unix users from AD
...nd only those users*, to my linux system? If I create a user _without_ rc2307 means I don't want linux to know about him. If I define a user with /bin/false as shell on SFU, bring that to linux. That's it. As an admin, I don't care about idmapping, I already defined an uidNumber (or wathever AD attribute is used to store it) to the user, just use it. Also, to ease the discussion about those solutions, how about someone with knowledge of their internal mechanics sketch a feature matrix comparing those, listing advantages and drawbacks? I understand Samba team will always recommen...

Breaking up user homes by letter
Hi, I've been digging all over and I can't seem to find an answer to this. Is there a way to have Samba assign home directory paths by the first letter of a username and then the actual username underneath? Like this: /Users/j/Johnson If I can, is there a way for Samba to also still direct the user right into that folder if in Windows they were to enter

had a thought on peeling last night
I was up late last night, and i had a thought on peeling that would probably provide 100% accurate peeling data to a decoder, but take a maximum of 1101 times normal time to encode (taking into account the range from q-1 to q10 ). ay you want to encode a track at q10, but you want it to be peelable. the 1101 encoder would encode from the source at every quantifiable level (since there are 2

New Firefly version
As Promised, I've released a new version of Firefly (ver 1.8) with IAX & SIP support back in. Get it from Virbiage site or here's the direct link http://www.virbiage.com/firefly/download/firefly-thirdparty.exe If it crashes on startup, export your Firefly tree from the registry (current user -> software -> firefly), then delete tree from your registry. If that fixes it, send
