Documentation: Was -- identical() versus sapply()
...there. This issue is as old as documented things. With software it is particularly nasty, especially when we want the software to function across many platforms. Duncan has pointed out that critics need to step up to do something. I would put documentation failures at the top of my list of time-wasters, and have been bitten by some particularly weak offerings (not in R) in the last 2 weeks. So .... Proposal: That the R community consider establishing a "test and document" group to parallel R-core to focus on the documentation. An experiment to test the waters is suggested below. The...

[LLVMdev] [Clang] [lld] [llvm-link] Whole program / dead-code optimization
...s are up to 10x their fully optimized gcc equivalent (1.5k vs 16k). This is for a bare metal ARM based system so this is significant. We're using lld for linking and the following dead code elimination techniques seem to be dead ends: 1) whole program optimization on our most egregious space waster (-fwhole-program not supported by clang) 2) link time optimization (looks like this is only supported by lld for the COFF path not the ELF path) 3) using a linker plugin like gold (-fuse-linker-plugin doesn't seem to be supported by clang) We have control over the whole codebase and could esse...

openssh-based file transfers (e.g. rsync, scp, ...) are running 40 (!!) times faster via IPv4 than IPv6
openssh 7.6p1-lp150.7.4 on OpenSuse Leap 15 (both server and client) Hi all, first post to list, hopefully on-topic. Haven't found anything on the net, tried to ask at first in OpenSuse forums a while ago (https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/533588-rsnapshot-rsync-massive-performance-decrease) and today opened a bug in OpenSuse's Bugzilla

How to install libquicktime on CentOS 7 in one (or two) line of command?
OK, ok, let's put an end to this thread. We are all dilettantes and further discussion would be just a waster of time, as is everywhere in online forums. Fortunately I don't have critical tasks to run on linux. Thank everyone for your involvement. Hope I can find the link to quit here. Maximum number of paralel connections

I have 5 queues to prioritize traffic, but these p2p open thousands of connections and my systems gets REALLY HIGH latence. Does anybody of you know by any means, for a DSL connections, the ammount of parallel connections for a good rate of utili...

I suspect it might be the giant mega "rewrite nouveau" commit, in which case we're screwed and this will have been a huge time-waster (apologies in advance if it turns out this way). But it might be one of the many other commits that went into 3.7, which would be nice and indicate an area to focus on. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attach...

Hello group, I am learning R and I am new to many concepts.I face the following errors when I am trying to execute the following. I have 4 text files with protein accession numbers. I wanted to represent them in a venn diagram and for that I using intersect and setdiff functions. My data looks like this: file1.txt (c): NP_000005 NP_000020 NP_000030 NP_000053 file2.txt(e): NP_000005 NP_000020
