box-and-whisker plots based on summary not data

colour-plot of point intensities?
...with two columns. Each row contains the number of times an individual moved, and the distance that individual moved in total. I would like a figure where the colour indicates the density of points, rather like this one my colleague produced in Matlab (with an older version of the data): http://www.warwick.ac.uk/~lssgah/warwick1.pdf Sadly, my colleague is away at the moment, so I can't find out what they did in Matlab. How should I be approaching this problem? [ideally, I'd like a colour-scale like that, too, but] My current approach, based on a bit in the back of Crawley's R book, was...

Multiply each column of array by vector component
Hi, I've got an array, say with i,jth entry = A_ij, and a vector, say with jth entry= v_j. I would like to multiply each column of the array by the corresponding vector component, i,e. find the array with i,jth entry A_ij * v_j This seems so basic but I can't figure out how to do it without a loop. Any suggestions? Michal.

Does anyone know how to reach him, or maybe I should contact CRAN directly? [1] https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/redhat/README Regards, -- I?aki ?car

Random dom0 lock up
Hi guys, Having a weird issue with a Dom0. When we were running 2.6.18.8 kernel the server would lock up every 2 weeks for no reason. Its been a difficult one to resolve as there are no errors. We have now upgraded to 2.6.32.13 and the lock ups are more often. For example today it crashed in the morning, then it was rebooted and it crashed again about 5 hours later, no logs. The

...sion of a post on http://www.hydrogenaudio.org - I thought some people might be interested that dodn't read that board) Previously I created some graphs which show how average bitrate changes as you vary quality, for various standard test samples. You can find these graphs at http://www.maths.warwick.ac.uk/~jingram/ogg/ (there's a readme there that explains in more detail). This time I thought I'd look at how bitrate changes over time, within a Vorbis file. I've written a little tool which takes the output from ogg123, hits it with a rock, and generates nice graphs of bitrate-vs-...

Model formula question
Hi all, I'm not familiar with R programming and I'm trying to reproduce a result from a paper. Basically, I have a dataset which I would like to model in terms of successive increments, i.e. (y denote empirical values of y) y_1 = y1, y_2 = y1 + delta1, y_3 = y1 + delta1 + delta2. ... y_m = y1 + sum_2^m delta j where delta_j donote successive increments in the y-values, i.e. delta

GLM coefficients
Dear all, After running a glm, I use the summary ( ) function to extract its coefficients and related statistics for further use. Unfortunately, the screen only displays a small (last) part of the results. I tried to overcome the problem by creating/saving an object "coef" for coefficients of the model and export/save it e.g. as a cvs document. While I succed with this operatiion, I do
