To calculate sample size based on generalized wilcoxon test or Tarone-Ware test
Dear all,
I am trying to calculate sample size for a clinical research, on the basis
of generalized wilcoxon test or Tarone-Ware test.
It seems SAS can do this job using it "POWER" procedure, but SAS is not
available to me.
I would be very grateful if you could let me know if any R package or other
tools which could cope with this problem.
Best Regards,
Wang

(no subject)-about the waring/errors in ks.test
[In future, please press reply all as there might be others in the
mailing list who can help you]
Without a (short) reproducible example, it would be difficult to say.
BTW, I think you have mistyped the error/warning message. Does it
actually say "cannot compute _correct_ p-value" or "cannot compute
_exact_ p-value". See example below.

Formatting a large disk
I need to install Centos on a machine with 3tb raid disk. (3 ware raid card)
Could someone in the list suggest a utility for partition this disk. I would

CentOS 4.0 compatible with Dell's OpenManage?
Hi,
I'm looking into purchasing a few Dell Servers and installing it with
CentOS 4.1. It comes with this software called the the Dell OpenManage
Software Kit for PowerEdge that allows for remote monitoring of the servers.
Has anyone out there successfully installed the OpenManage s/ware? Is it
compatible with CentOS 4.1?
Any opinions / feedback is welcome.
Thanks.

id3v2 problem
Hi Josh,
I found id3v2 didn't work on v1.1.0. I checked source codes, macros- (in
such cases as FLAC_HAVE_ID3LIB) ware moved to config.h. That is good.
But the place to do include is the after of #ifdef FLAC_HAVE_ID3LIB.
The result of configure script isn't reflected. And it doesn't always
have id3lib with this.
Move place of 'include "config.h"' to the top. I confirmed it worked
good on...

So why would anyone use fixed point DSPs?
Cost) floating point hardware is more complicated than fixed point,
thus more expensive.
Energy) more transistors at a given feature size and clock speed
require more watts
The fixed point chips often supply specialized instructions to aid in
floating point emulation. For example, TI 54x and 55x include a

open-vm-tools on CentOS 6
Hello all,
As far as which VMWare tools to use - the ones from VM Ware or the
open-vm-tools available through the EPEL - is there any consensus on what
is better? I know that for CentOS 7 you are told to use open-vm-tools but
what is the situation with CentOS 6?
Thanks.

I can't seem to re-install it, whether from the original (1.5.0 I think it

Can anyone advise how to get Java back. At the moment, I have had to
reboot my laptop into Redmond-ware :-(((
