Announce: R from Python
...Python, but modifying it a little, I wrote an interface for using R from Python. The main reason for writing it was to make it robust, in order to avoid segmentation faults. Also, it is (IMMO) a very transparent interface between Python and R. It is downloadable from http://www.cmat.edu.uy/~walterm/rpy I attach a fragment of the README. Help with Python, R and RPY
Hi All: Walter Moreira wrote a small extension module for using the R programming language from within Python. Tim Church's example at http://www.cmat.edu.uy/~walterm/rpy was so compelling, I could not resist installing it on my Linux Mandrake 8.1 box. But I ran into problems. I have installed on Mandrake 8.1 both python and R: R-base-1.4.1-1mdk.i586.rpm R-recommended-1.4.1-1mdk.i586.rpm python-2.2-9mdk.i586.rpm python-base-2....

In order to illustrate both the power of the R environment and the ease with which this power can be used from within Python (thanks to Walter's efforts and those of Duncan Temple Lang on the RSPython module which inspired RPy), I have created a little demo,...

ANN: RPy (R from Python) 0.2
Hello. RPy version 0.2 is released. You can download it from the Sourceforge site: http://rpy.sourceforge.net WHAT IS RPy? RPy is a very simple, yet robust, Python interface to the R Programming Language (http://www.r-project.org). It can manage all kinds of R objects and can execute arbitrary R functions (including the graphic functions). All the errors from the R language are
