Bug#390927: xen-hypervisor-3.0.2-1-i386: Xen kernel panics when booting
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0.2-1-i386 Version: 3.0.2-3+hg9762-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable When booting Xen Dom0 on my Dell 2950, the kernel panics. I have been unable to get the serial console working under xen (works under normal kernels), so the best debugging info I can provide is a screenshot of the console when it dies. I will attach that after the bug is

The debian examples would seem to indicate you can, by limiting the guest CPU features: Try zgrep cpuid /usr/share/...

What about us poor users on Debian squeeze? Or worse, about the upcoming wheezy release? Is there the possibility to backport this fix to s-p-u? Should I ask release.debian.org for a freeze exception for 4.1.3-7? Thanks for the merge! For the record, we have deployed the patc...

[PATCH] hotplug: add openvswitch script
Based on Waldi''s RFC at http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-devel/2012-09/msg00943.html To use it set vif.default.script="vif-openvswitch" in /etc/xen/xl.conf or use script=vif-openvswitch in the vif configuration. Appears to do the right thing for PV and HVM guests (including tap devices)...

Bug#737905: closed by Bastian Blank <waldi@debian.org> (Bug#737905: fixed in xen 4.4.0-1)
I don't believe this bug is fixed. The following line appears to carry forward the same problem to xen-4.4: --with-system-seabios=/usr/share/seabios/bios.bin http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-xen/xen.git/tree/debian/rules.real?id=1f422caa31ef3a537a1e41ce68789b6d5536b954#n79 bios.bin does not contain xen support any more (see previous replies on this bug report); bios-256k.bin must be used

Notes from Xen BoF at Debconf15
...onf.org/debconf15/meeting/279/xen-upstream-bof/ These are my notes, I think there is probably stuff of interest to most distro people, not just Debian folks. The session was scheduled in a small, out of the way, room. Around 2 dozen people attended including: Ian Jackson Bastian Blank ("waldi", current Xen package maintainer in Debian) Guido Trotter (previous Xen package maintainer, who still takes care of stable security updates) Axel Beckert (maintainer of the xen-tools helpers) Various users Myself The majority of the conversation was between Ian &...
