Xen and WakeOnLan
Hi, Does anyone ever tried wake on lan with Xen? I have a laptop Dell Latitude D520 that is a resource on a pool. I enabled wakeonlan on BIOS and used ethtool to enable the ''g'' flag on the eth0 network interface. When I use ''halt'' and try to send a magic packet (wakeonlan -i MASK MAC) through another LAN machine, nothing happens. I even tried enabling PCIE (see this http://ubuntuforums.org/show...

Poweroff on xen-3.0-testing
...ernel don''t call the "acpi_power_off() alias pm_poweroff()" function for power down the xenbox. Is it normal ? Do you have a patch for xen-3.0-testing ? 2/ The "ethtool" doesn''t access to the data parameter of my RTL8139 lan interface in the dom0 to active the WakeOnLan power-on hardware fonction. Do you have any answer to that failure ? Is it come from Brigde or XEN hypervisor ? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Shutdown from PXELinux
...use my english ... Does somebody have a .c32 , .cbt or .exe program to shutdown an ACPI and/or APM BIOS PC from PXELinux or DOS ? Or could be shutdown added as an option to PXELinux ? School environment, remote administration. On night time the electrical power is turned off in labs and PC loose WakeOnLan(WOL) and AlertStandardFormat(ASF) capabilities. In the morning when the power is on again PC have no WOL and ASF capabilities. Now I do something like this: It is available from BIOS the option to start computer on AC power restore . PXELinux loads a kernel image for APM or another one for A...

MBA protection needed (quite off topic)
Hi all, I'm new to this mailing list but I'm using this product since I'm in charge of making a clustering distribution using PXE of course. Yesterday night I was fighting with a problem of WakeOnLan (off topic). Everything is working now but my PXE ROM (MBA on 3com products) should be started for having the Wake On Lan feature working. If a run a Linux, shut it down, thisWakeOnLan feature doesn't works anymore whereas it works fine after a shutdone of Windows XP. I'm think that Linux...

Can this be done with PXELinux?
Hi This is what I like to be able to do. 1. Computer boot on LAN, using PXELinux. 2. If the computer is booting for the first time it sends MAC adr, RAM, size of harddrive and name of videocard to a shared folder on a computer, maybe a server, that is attached to the network. 3. If this is not the first time it scan for a new task, could be a new ghostimage or an unattended installation of a
