Centos 7.6 & ether-wake
Everyone,
I have not been able to get ether-wake to work waking up other centos 7.6 machines after
the upgrade to Centos 7.6. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so any luck with a
fix?

can not wake on lan after halt -p (or shutdown -p now) on releng_7 and releng_7_0
Hello list
I have a shutdown problem. I have a machine with gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R
motherboard. Integrated network card is Realtek 8111B.
I can not wake the computer after I shutdown it from FreeBSD.
It is a dualboot system - windows xp and freebsd. If I shutdown the
computer from windows - later I can wake it up with magic packet. Even
if i shutdown the machine on the boot menu with the power

Wake on LAN
Has anyone experience with WOL under Centos (5.3).?
If so, how exactly do you put the machine to sleep,
and how exactly do you wake it up remotely?

The 'ether-wake' command in net-tools doesn't use a port at all. It's
just a raw packet of EtherType 0x0842 as the so-called "Magic Packet"

Getting Wake on lan to work
My system is:
Intel CC820 motherboard (which supports PME# wake up for wake on LAN)
3com 3C905C which also supports wake on LAN via PME#
Linux 5.5
The motherboard BIOS is later than one that reports an issue with WOL
and this particular network card was fixed.
But when I turn off the PC (shutdown or poweroff commands or front
panel button), it cannot be restarted via WOL. The network light on

wake-up call
Hi there!
I just try to play with die wake-up function described in
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+tips+wake-up
Everything looks fine but there seem to be missing some soundfiles like
"wakeup-menu". Where can I get these files in order to make this feature
usable?

Centos 7.6 & ether-wake
Can you be more specific about the hardware?
I have a setup of DELL desktop, DELL Server SuperMicro Server and couple
other devices.

/usr/bin/sudo /usr/sbin/ether-wake "XY::XY" -b && echo 1
All of my servers have Intel PRO 1Gbit ethernet nics(2,4,1.. ports per
machine).
To make the Desktop wakeup I had to do

Handle sleep/hibernate/wake-up in WIndows
As per title it seems like tinc installed as a service doesn't handle well the sleep/hibernate/wake-up calls
e.g. the service is unresponsive after a wake up rather than restarted.
As i read it should be easy to fix:

app_wakeme.c (Wake-up Call Manager) v0.1.0 released
Greetings,
I'm releasing my first attempt at Asterisk development in hopes of
gathering a bit of feedback. It's just a wake-up call manager but,
seeing as the only one I was able to find was a php-agi script,
perhaps an actual app will be useful to someone.
Anyway, here's the details.
Features:
* User can set / cancel wake-up calls for their extension
* Option to snooze is

ether-wake
The WoL magic packet is only scanned for the string above, and not actually
parsed by a full protocol stack, it could be sent as any network- and
transport-layer protocol, although it is typically sent as a UDP

Some (very old) units are known to have problems with small values for
ondelay (hence the default 3 minutes value):

Dovecot waking every 50ms when doing nothing
Hi,
My laptop runs a local IMAP server so that I'm immune from breaking my
mail client, and when playing around with powertop I discovered that
Dovecot (in particular imap-login) wakes up every 1000ms and then every
50ms even when no clients are connected. A bit of stracing shows this:
gettimeofday({1180875699, 667917}, NULL) = 0 <0.000010>

AtlantisLand don't want to wake up after the whiteout
Thanks for your reply Hyouko,
these are the actual not working parameters:
driver.parameter.offdelay: 60
driver.parameter.ondelay: 5
ups.delay.shutdown: 60
ups.delay.start: 300
and the UPS don't wake up after the whiteout..
My UPS is not so old :(

Does a plugin can have root privileges ?
Hello,
I wish to get "Fetchmail Wake" works in my environment. This plugin send
SIGUSR1 to fetchmail so it wakes up when mail client grabs mail.
For the moment "Fetchmail Wake" is executed by mail_uid (defined in
dovecot.conf) which is not enough to send signal to fetchmail daemon
(and access to fetchmail.pidfile).
Thank you!

Trigger a wake-up call from the shell?
I have set up a script that ensures certain services are up on my
Asterisk box (Trixbox 2.0). I would like it to trigger a wake-up call
if certain conditions aren't meant. How might I accomplish this from
the shell?
