...ain policies. No, but i've never done that and im using these so im not deleting them :-) And stupid me i forgot the most important one. Open the registry editor and locate the below path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Create the DWORD value If the WaitForNetwork, if the value is not exists. Set the value to 1. Close the registry editor and restart the computer I've set that by GPO, wait for network is very important. The start of computers with SSD is so fast, network the not ready yet. And these are as far as i know, not hardcoded, these are just...

Wait For Network - Win registry
Hi people, I'd like to know about registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System\WaitForNetwork. The question is simple, but I didn't get to find the answer; so, the time to be specified, per default, is in minutes or in secounds? Thanks a lot, -- Marcio Oliveira. Win7 login sloooooow
Hi, I found that login to Samba4 PDC takes few seconds in XP, but very long in Win7. The Login in Win7 is fast when setting this: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System] "WaitForNetwork"=dword:00000001 If I set it to 1, the login takes about 3 seconds. If I set it to 90 (decimal), then the login takes more than 90 seconds. Setting it to 0 means using the default, which is 30 seconds. But this parameter is supposed to affect only roaming profiles, and I have roaming profi...

Samba and Vista profile probs
...er (it's surely better to put it in a separate folder, but OK) without NTuser.dat and ntuser.forgotextension otherwise it won't work! And don't forget to reset the user rights on all te files!! Then do the "CompatibleRUPSecurity"=dword:00000001 fix, but don't do the "WaitForNetwork"=dword:00000000 if there are profiles bigger than a certain size (i don't know the size, but when using thunderbird mailboxes > 500 mb, which can happen after a couple of years, Vista will say 'profile not loaded COMPLETELY instead of profile could not be loaded, because it will bre...
