Sieve redirect does not collect the sendmail child process correctly (Dovecot 2.3.4.1, Pigeonhole 0.5.4)
...been a breaking change in Dovecot/Pigeonhole.
What follows is some more debugging from me.
The chain of processes that lead to dovecot-lda and sendmail execution look like this:
PID
32457 qmail-lspawn
6923 qmail-local
6924 sh -c vlelivermail
6925 sh -c preline /usr/local/bin/vpop-lda
6926 vpop-lda(perl script) -> deliver -> doveconf -> deliver
6927 grep
6928 pwd
6929 sendmail -> qmail-inject
6930 qmail-queue
Just before executing sendmail, dovecot-lda is registering a signal handler for SIGCHLD:

Extracting variance component estimates from lme
...so that I can then calculate a statistic called Qst from them. So I
have this:
reg1 <- lme(y ~ temp*food, random =~1|POP/SIRE/DAM,
na.action=na.exclude))
summary(reg1)
which shows me the random effects as standard deviations. I then want
the SIRE and POP variance components (as Vsire and Vpop respectively) to
put into the calculation of Qst as
Qst <- Vpop/(Vpop + 8*Vsire)
And obviously writing down the components and then plugging them in is
not elegant. Especially as I then want to calculate the standard error
for Qst, which leads me to my supplementary question...
I could calc...

Some trouble with dovecot 2.1 and SASL
..., like explained ih this howto:
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/PostfixAndDovecotSASL
Authentications over IMAP (local dovecot -> remote dovecot) works fine,
and it's great. Also smtp-auth on postfix (over SASL) works fine. But in
the dovecot log I found this error:
Feb 19 11:11:42 demo-vpop dovecot: auth: Fatal: master: service(auth):
child 30506 killed with signal 11 (core dumps disabled)
even though all works fine.
This is my dovecot configuration:

# OS: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 x86_64 Debian 6.0.4

How does one use SASL2 for authentication? I looked for docs but found
none.
Thanks in advance.

Using dovecot with vpopmail and mysql auth?
Hi,
Does anyone happen to know the right strings to do authentication
against mysql storing vpopmail data, vs using the vpopmail auth module?
I'm trying to get up to both vpopmail 5.5, and dovecot 2.0, and
dovecot-auth seems to reliably segfault on the 5.5 vpopmail module.
I've tried downgrading vpopmail as well, with less than stellar results.
I saw an old article about doing exa...

Sieve redirect does not collect the sendmail child process correctly (Dovecot 2.3.4.1, Pigeonhole 0.5.4)
Hi,
I got this simple test Sieve config:

Some strange i64 behavior with arm 32bit. (Raspberry Pi)
Hi Tim,
thanks for the swift response!
@debug is defined in the same module, which makes this all the more confusing.
The target information from the working example are:
target datalayout = "e-m:e-p:32:32-i64:64-v128:64:128-a:0:32-n32-S64"
target triple = "armv6kz--linux-gnueabihf"
from the ghc produced module:

Dovecot deliver Segmentation fault when arrive the first message
Hi,
I have found this strange problem. I'm working with Debian 6, dovecot
2.1.9 and vpopmail-auth.
LDA is configured and works fine but the problem is when the first
message arrive "dovecot-lda" return a "Segmentation fault", the message
is written to the user's Mailbox but the message remains, also, in the
queue of qmail (deferral: Segmentation_fault/) and...

Domain Admin group problem
Hi,
I've got an interesting problem with my Samba 3.0.2a on Debian Woody.
I've created the Domain Admins group as I could read in the
documentation, and I added
a user to this group called "star". If I login to a Windows 2000
workstation, which is a member of the domain, I can login, but I don't
have administrator rights on this workstation. The Domain Admins group
is a

clang 4.0.0: Invalid code for builtin floating point function with -mfloat-abi=hard -ffast-math (ARM)
Hello,
clang/llvm 4.0.0 generates invalid calls for builtin functions with
-mfloat-abi=hard -ffast-math.
Small example fail.c:
// clang -O2 -target armv7a-none-none-eabi -mfloat-abi=hard
-ffast-math -S fail.c -o -
extern float sinf (float x);
float sin1 (float x) {return (sinf (x));}
generates code to pass the parameter in r0 and expect the result in r0.
The same code without

PATCH: mysql authentication
Here's a patch that implements mysql authentication. I started with the
pgsql files and tweaked them to use mysql instead. It works for me, but
there might be a couple of memory leaks. I'm welcome to suggestions on
how to clean it up so it can be committed.
Enjoy!

IMAP subscribe/unsubscribe broken in 0.99.10.2
IMAP subscribe/unsubscribe is broken in 0.99.10.2 (and earlier
releases), specifically subsfile_set_subscribed(), where the logic is
all wrong. I tried just copying over the latest subscription-file.c but
it has dependencies on some file locking/dotlocking stuff that 0.99.10.2
doesn't have.
Timo, would it be possible to incorporate the latest subscription-file.c
into 0.99.10.3 (whenever

NUL characters in POP3 conversation cause Outlook to hang
We're being bitten an Outlook bug [1,2] that is triggered by a NUL
character in a message being sent through POP3. I see that dovecot's
imap implementation converts 0x00 to 0x80, but this conversion is not
done for POP3. Would it be possible to add an option to do this mapping
for POP3 as well?

Problem with DIGEST-MD5 authentication and plaintext passwords
I wasn't able to get DIGEST-MD5 authentication working with passwords
stored as plaintext until I tweaked password_generate() to make it not
use the domain portion of user at domain.com as the realm. Both evolution
and kmail send the email address as the username with no realm; when
dovecot tries to convert the username to user + realm, the hash is
different and so DIGEST-MD5
