Can I create virtual resources with create_resources function
I am trying to add ability to add virtual users to
the git://github.com/erwbgy/puppet-system.git module as I really want the
ability to use virtual users and then combine that with "User <| group ==
''x'' and group == ''y'' |>" way of realizing the users. This is much more
flexible than what I can do with this module out of the box.

of the input file -- the only thing that's unique about this line is
that it contains a long string (236 characters) in a column that in
the previous rows was empty. Any chance that this sort of thing would
cause R to run into a road block?

[Bridge] Bridge / Transparent Proxy
Hi,
I am using my machine as a Bridge and running transparent proxy on it.
My question is - where the brdige will work?
Do brdige will forward the packet before it reaches to iptables rule?
If yes then what is the solution - as I want to use my machine as
Transparent proxy and I have setup iptables rules on it.
I have tried so many times - look at the tcpdump also - but it seems
that packets

How to remove a node from Puppet CA, Puppet DB from a remote host
I need to programmatically remove cert from Puppet master and remove all
information in Puppet DB for a node from another machine which is neither
Puppet Master or PuppetDB. It does have a Puppet signed cert since it is
also provisioned using Puppet.
I can''t find any decent documentation on this. I am using the Community
Edition.
Any pointers / help is appreciated.

Configure a linux client to be a member of a Samba Domain and allow users from Domain to sign on.
Hi,
I have a Samba server setup as a PDC. I have a mostly Windows client in the
domain. I have one linux client that I configured and joined the domain.
However, after joining the domain, I can't login with any of the domain
users.
I have the SMB.conf configured on the client side as security=domain
What else do I have to do to allow smb users to login to the linux box? I

php-cgi frozen with sbwait when SMP enable
Hello,
I have 4 web servers with lighttpd to serve one web site with DNS load
sharing. On the 2 SMP-enable web servers, there will be many php-cgi frozen
in 'sbwait' state every day. It means the php-cgi stay in 'sbwait' state,
and never be back to 'accept' or other state. If I restart them, there will
be frozen php-cgi appear some hours later.

7.0-Release and 3ware 9550SXU w/BBU - horrible write performance
Hi,
I've got a new server with a 3ware 9550SXU with the
Battery. I am using FreeBSD 7.0-Release (tried both
4BSD and ULE) using AMD64 and the 3ware performance
for writes is just plain horrible. Something is
obviously wrong but I'm not sure what.
I've got a 4 disk RAID 10 array.
According to 3dm2 the cache is on. I even tried

Howdy,
<this messages is cross posted in freebsd-security and freebsd-net>
I'm seeking current cryptographic coprocessors supported in FreeBSD 8.x. By perusing through the crypto-dev (and subsequently referenced) man page(s) I found this list:
Hifn 7751/7951/7811/7955/7956 crypto accelerator
SafeNet 1141/1741
Bluesteel 5501/5601

Suggest changing dirhash defaults for FreeBSD 9.2.
I have been experimenting with dirhash settings, and have scoured the internet
for other peoples' experience with it.
(I found the performance improvement in compiling has forestalled the need to
add an SSD drive. ;-)
I believe that increasing the following values by 10 would benefit most FreeBSD
users without disadvantage.
vfs.ufs.dirhash_maxmem: 2097152 to 20971520

New entropy source proposal.
Hi.
I've been playing a bit with "use sound card as an entropy source" idea.
This simple program does what I wanted:
http://people.freebsd.org/~pjd/misc/sndrand.tbz
The program is very simple, it should be run with two arguments:
% sndtest /dev/dspW 1048576 > rand.data
This command will generate 1MB of random data.
With my sound card:
pcm0: <Intel ICH3 (82801CA)>
