Does anybody please have any hints or scripts? Do I need to use any VMWare modules if I just want to shutdown the

HELP! SNV_97,98,99 zfs with iscsitadm and VMWare!
I''m not sure if this is a problem with the iscsitarget or zfs. I''d greatly appreciate it if it gets moved to the proper list. Well I''m just about out of ideas on what might be wrong.. Quick history: I installed OS 2008.05 when it was SNV_86 to try out ZFS with VMWare. Found out that multilun''s were being treated as multipaths so waited till SNV_94 came out to

Success : clang/LLVM-built host kernel and clang-built VMware kernel modules for VMware Player 14.1.1 on host Ubuntu 17.10 x86_64
Hello All, As part of my clang/LLVM experiments and explorations with different clang-built kernel versions, I have tried to bring up other Linux/Ubuntu applications with their kernel modules also being clang-built. One such case has been with VMware Player 14.1.1. I am sharing this report for interested people that highlights my research and success in overcoming and solving the challenges in

[PATCH 2/3] x86/vmware: Add basic paravirt ops support
I believe our trademark guidelines say we aren't supposed to use VMware as a noun to mean a product, only to mean the company. So we can say "running on VMware ESXi" or "running in a VMware virtual machine", but "running on VMware" is wrong. There is supposedly some good legal reason for this related to keeping our trademark. On Tue, 25 Oct 2016 22:26:00 -0700,

OT: vmware server not accepting root password?
Sorry for the OT question; I'm hoping someone else has a similar setup and ran into this same problem? For some reason, not sure what I changed, my vmware server is no longer accepting the root login for the management console or web mui interface. I'm certain the password is correct, and I've even reset root's password to make sure. VMware seems to be running ok, I can access

The steal clock is a per CPU structure in a shared memory between hypervisor and guest, initialized by each CPU through hypercall. Steal clock is got updated by the hypervisor and read by the guest. display problem running under vmware
I'm running an up-to-date CentOS 6 virtual machine in a VMWare player on a Windows box and I cannot set the display resolution to anything higher than 1280x720. Windows shows the screen resolution on this monitor to be 1920x1080. I do have VMWareTools installed although I'm not certain it is installed correctly. How can I tell? It is version 8.8.4-743747. I'm not sure if this is a

VMWare Server doesn't like new CentOS installation?
I just got a nice, shiny new machine at work, a Core 2 Duo, on which I just finished installing CentOS 5.2 with a fair number of packages, SeaMonkey 1.1.10, Adobe Reader 8.0, Adobe Flash 9.0, mplayer, mplayerplug-in (both from rpmforge), and I think that was it. Then I went and got the latest VMWare Server, 1.0.7, from VMWare, pulled down their rpm, installed it, and ran vmware-config.pl, which

VMWare vs. Xen, is the conflict by VMware deliberate?
I''ve been trying to virtualize SCO OpenServer 5.0.6 for various reasons, and found that the Xensource 4.x doesn''t support it, nor does the open source Xen 3.x in any of the environments I''ve tried. It works on VMware, but for various reasons I prefer to use Xen on my Dom0. (I like open source, and the base OS for the commercial reasons is much, much more recent, and
