Your patch makes VmWare2 build, but it doesn't make it work: - VmWare fails to allocate memory (see http://anders.fix.no/test/vmware/1.png and http://anders.fix.no/test/vmware/2.png). - There seems to be something wrong with vmmon, som...

Is this correct?
...copy an 8 gig file. After first copying it over I try and rsync it again. There are no changes so why is it copying the file over again? Here is the output of what I am trying to do. Recommendations for organizing hosts into groups?
I have a few different groupings of hosts, and I am wondering what is the best way to organize the node configuration for them. I have a few machines that are VMware hosts, a bunch of VMware guests, and the main admin server which runs a bunch of stuff like puppetmasterd. I''ve got a bunch of classes/*.pp which define configuration for sudo, yum, java, etc. Right now I just have

Working configuration for 5.1 and VMware 3 or 2?
...lled (w2k) a guest and it is fine but I cannot get networking host-only or bridge modes as the vmnet1 interface IP isn't found which indicates it hasn't found the config file in /usr/local/ - I tried sym-linking it to /etc/vmware/config but still no good. Anyone got it working? I suspect vmware2 might work - next plan.... Tantalisingly close to working... but of course after going in circles for a couple of hours I may have missed something obvious. thanks Neil -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr Neil J Long, Computing Services, University of Oxford...

VMWare Server doesn't like new CentOS installation?
I just got a nice, shiny new machine at work, a Core 2 Duo, on which I just finished installing CentOS 5.2 with a fair number of packages, SeaMonkey 1.1.10, Adobe Reader 8.0, Adobe Flash 9.0, mplayer, mplayerplug-in (both from rpmforge), and I think that was it. Then I went and got the latest VMWare Server, 1.0.7, from VMWare, pulled down their rpm, installed it, and ran vmware-config.pl, which

Using multiple values for source, for platform/arch/host configs
Hi, in an attempt to simplify my configuration, and from a suggestion on IRC, I was thinking of using multiple values for file { source => [] }. Was just currious if anyone had any comments on this. Basically, I setup my file-server to use: <snip> [private] path /var/lib/puppet/files/private/%H allow * [shared] path /var/lib/puppet/files/shared allow *
